Sunderland v Watford The early table doesn't bode well for the Hornets. IV's men travel t'up north, and from 20th to 4th too. Rumours that the Pozzo's trigger finger is twitching are out there. There are two games before another international break, and Watford have to play both away, something needs to change as it has been 270 days since Watford last won away, that's 12 league games. You have to go back to January 2 for the last time away fans left a stadium other than Vicarage Road celebrating a Watford win, when Vakoun Bayo’s late strike secured a 1-0 victory over Norwich for a Hornets squad that was decimated by injuries. Two more losses will put more pressure on the new manager. Team news to follow: ENJOY THE GAME!
After today's round of 10 games, with a few teams still on round 9, now we are in 21st position. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/championship/table
Strange thing is it feels like we've been playing better than that, but just haven't been getting the results (Leeds game excepted).
Leeds game was shocking really..... but Leeds were in good form ... Generally we are letting too many goals in by poor covering in defence.
VI blamed his formation change in the Boro debacle for the goals - from 4-3-3 to 3-5-2. I did a double-take at that - at no point did I notice 5 of our players in midfield. In fact on more than one occasion I didn't notice any of our players in midfield - particularly in the lead up to Boro scoring.
we have players missing tonight plus another since the last match these injuries are ridiculous, we don't know who that player is though, its the tackles going in against our players the refs are not doing much either, 1-0 i reckon.
If we turn up I think your prediction may be spot on - but, given that we haven't been turning up recently, I fear the scoreline may be worse. I seem to remember a 5-0 thrashing back in the mists of time - and wouldn't be surprised if that was repeated.
Interestingly, our goal difference is zero, which I think reinforces the point that the performances make me feel like we're a mid-table team, rather than one hovering above the relegation zone.
All depends which Watford turn up... we never know which one we're gonna get. One thing for sure, it'll be entertaining: It certainly won't be 0-0, guaranteed. (we'd take it though!)
