    BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE
Venue: Stadium of Light Date: Saturday, 28 April

    TEAM NEWS

Sunderland's Sebastian Larsson and Kieran Richardson have been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing hernia surgery.
Craig Gardner is suspended following his red card last Saturday.

Bolton manager Owen Coyle is still beset with a host of injury concerns and said six players picked up problems in the win over Aston Villa on Tuesday.
Mark Davies, Chris Eagles and Ryo Miyaichi all missed training on Thursday.

    MATCH PREVIEW

After this rotten week of rain there can't be many places left in the UK still claiming any kind of drought - although Sunderland might have a case. Martin O'Neill's team has failed to score in their last four games, and with a hat-trick of blanks at home behind them, the Stadium of Light crowd will be desperate to cheer a red and white goal again.

There's still too much to do for Sunderland's season to peter out. They've still got the incentive of getting four points from their last three games to beat last season's total, and have a big part to play in events at the top and bottom of the league.

I've seen both sides of Wanderers in recent weeks and wouldn't like to guess what's going to happen next!

The only game of their last six that the Black Cats scored in was their 3-3 draw at Manchester City a month ago. City might still need to hope for a similar effort (and result) when Manchester United visit Wearside on the final day.
Before all that, Bolton. A team who boosted hopes of beating the drop in 60 dramatic seconds at Villa Park on Tuesday night.
From a gutsy 'do it for Muamba' display to beat Blackburn followed by an abject capitulation at home to Fulham, I've seen both sides of Wanderers in recent weeks and wouldn't like to guess what's going to happen next!
There's no doubt, though, that they'll be in great shape to stay up IF they can win this one. It would be a fifth win from their last eight league games and would add hugely to momentum going into an all-important game in hand against Spurs next Wednesday.
The start Owen Coyle's team made start to the season was as awful as this week's weather. Of eight previous sides who lost nine of their first 12 Premier League games, only Southampton in 2002 stayed up. It's in Bolton's own hands to do the same.

    MATCH FACTS

    Head-to-head
Sunderland have only conceded one goal against Bolton in their last six league matches and are unbeaten in those games.
The Black Cats have done the double over Bolton in the previous two seasons.
This is the 145th meeting between the sides. Sunderland have won 63, Bolton 49 and there have been 32 draws.

    Sunderland

They are the only Premier League club yet to score a goal in April - having failed to score in their last four league games.
They have picked up just 11 points from their last 11 league games, which is the same as Bolton - and two less than Blackburn.
According to Opta, joint-top scorer Stephane Sessegnon has managed just two shots on target in his last 10 Premier League games.

    Bolton

Bolton have now won six away games this season. The only team to be relegated from the Premier League having won six or more games away from home was Crystal Palace in 1997-1998.
They have only drawn three matches this season and none away from home. The last top-flight club to fail to draw a single away match in a season was Norwich City in 1980-1981.
They have conceded the opening goal in matches 24 times this season - the joint highest in the league with Wolves.
Bolton have picked up just 11 of their 30 points this season against teams outside the bottom five.

Bored at work so answered my own question. Toulouse v Lyon 2009 (not sure who was home or away). Classic quote from the away manager....."If we have to score six goals to win a game, especially away, it's going to be tough." ....

I recall Oxford and Portsmouth having a crazy draw, around 1993, maybe before, either 5-5 or 6-6. on the same night there was a 7-3 somewhere as well.

Buggared if I know exactly when like..

EDIT 1992! I'm impressed with my brain for that one!

I've got a days leave in for today so the game better be bloody well on!...I feel that people are not talking about the game is down to a mixture of us not playing well of late, combined with the added kick in the teeth of the stinking Skunks doing really well (not that I'm bitter or anything..<whistle>)..What's needed is a resounding win for us combined with a defeat for them (added bonus for Connor Wigham), which I'm sure will lift the gloom from this board...

Newcastle have some tough games, Chelsea, City and Everton but today's at Wigan could well be the toughest

Sticking with a less than inspiring 0-0 draw and more abuse from the £5 idiots for the lads and MON. The season for us has just fizzled out not sure why but, would hope it's because the lads are totally knackered.

Bolton fighting for their lives, us 'the team without strikers' (alright Bendtner is half a one) not scoring for ages, what will be the score heavens knows anything could happen.

One conspiracy theory of course is if we want Villa to go down we need to lose!
