Sunderland strike scouting agreement with Ghana's Asante Kotoko

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill is set to get first refusal on some of Ghana's best players.

O'Neill's Black Cats have turned to Ghana champions Asante Kotoko to help them find players.

Kotoko director Kwame Baah Nuakoh said: "Sunderland have proposed to use Kotoko as their scouts for Africa.

"We may be given the players to groom and work towards qualification for work permits in England."

Can't hurt. As long as we get Mensah, types, not Gyan money-grabbers.

Can only be a good thing for the club, plenty of good players have came from Ghana and nearby African countries and I am sure this club who are the biggest club in Ghana can spot talent a lot quicker than our rubbish scouts can identify good players at a young age, have them for a couple of years before they make there move to us

I have not heard anymore about us and that Belgium or dutch side that would be our feeder club for the africans

Could be asante then the dutch/belguim before they actually get here lol will save us some money mind buy certainly a long progress

No more African players because of the Africa cup of nations lasting about 6 weeks, or south american players either as they bottle the weather, apart from Tevez that is. Gyan might come back if we offer him £200,000 a week !.
