    No bite here.

You condemned yourself nicely with your own words.

    Sad man.

Morning Mackems - have a good day one and all.

PP - leave it out for christs sake. How do you think you portray yourself?? Have a long hard thought process, if indeed that is possible.

You do not speak for me.

    For Christ's sake????????????????????

ok a Sunderland fan posted a thread on OUR board it's sorted at least I thought I HAD sorted things?

On behalf of ALL the decent STOKE fans, accept my sincere apologies for this latest attempt to wind up Sunderland fans.

I also Include Nicky b who clearly like me has had enough back biting, stupid insulting comments from both sets of fans ( some anyway)
I did say some fans. Let's all agree to get along and Potter Palm I've better more important things to do than spend my time as a MODERATOR.

Any Stoke fan/s who are interested PLEASE apply at the end of this season.

    Thanks in advance Pott's <ok>

What Fuller did was totally unacceptable and indefensible.

We know that and is doesn't need fans from other clubs to come on here and point out the obvious.

If we want to talk about it then a bit of friendly banter is all that is required, not a post like this which is completely unnecessary and does nothing to help the situation.

There's too much football related animosity already without someone trying to make it worse.

Don't worry lads and lasses, I think the majority of SAFC fans are well aware that the OP is in a very small minority of Stoke fans with his remarks...
Idiots: we all have them eh!

I've heard it said before re Neck End..

Basically, a place where there is nothing else i.e. nothing of use to anyone!

Example... if you live miles away from other familes, another house.. you are said to be in the middle of nowhere.

Or as asked about the Neck End of nowhere.. SORRY but someone did ask the question.

As for Potter Palm I guess like the rest of us mere humans. He does not have a brain on his Neck End.

As said above, apologies for the orginal poster.

    SO too Potter Palm.

It's easy enough to shout off anyone on here anyone can do it. But it takes a man to say he's sorry.

Why don't you try it sometime!

Potts, your pretty much right about "neck end", Longton was nick-named neck end in Arnold Bennett's day, because it is the opposite side of the city from Hanley and Burslem, where most of the business was, although I'm not sure if it is a Stokie term or if we nicked it from somewhere else.

I'm a Sunderland lad and I am familiar with the expression 'neck end'... although I guess I never really thought about where it came from.

I suppose if I had given it any thought I would have remembered that my Dad used to buy ox-tail and would ask the butcher fot it to be cut from the 'neck end' which must have been a standing joke as the end of the ox-tail near the neck is the one covered in ****e.

I did read a few of Arnold Bennett's books some years back and it may have been an expression that took root in my brain from that if he coined the phrase.

No it's not just specific to the Stoke area, and used to be a pretty common term a few years back as a derogatory term for a place or area...eg: a pub or area that was notorious for trouble would be termed as being a neck end joint or neck end place.
So you could say that Trentham Gardens is very nice, but that Bentilee Estate is a real neck end area..
