FIFA announced on Thursday morning that the 32-year-old former Arsenal star will be barred from all football activity until he pays the outstanding amount to Sebastien Boisseau. Sportsmail understands the Ivorian owes his former agent up to £1million. please log in to view this image +7 Emmanuel Eboue has been hit with a one-year ban by FIFA unless he pays money owed to former agent Sunderland responded by immediately terminating Eboue's contract, despite him having yet to appear for the club after joining as a free agent on March 9. However, Eboue could be reinstated as a Sunderland player if he settles the money owed to his former agent in the next two weeks. FIFA confirmed Eboue's ban on Thursday morning and just 20 minutes later, Sunderland announced the termination of the defender's contract. A club statement read: 'Sunderland AFC has been advised by the Football Association that Emmanuel Eboue has been placed under an immediate suspension from football and all football-related activity for a period of one year, by FIFA. 'Eboue signed a contract with Sunderland AFC until the end of the current season and the club has therefore given notice of its intention to terminate the contract. The player has two weeks in which to appeal this decision.' It's another factor we could have done without because we've just spent a huge amount of time getting him fit. 'He was just ready to play a part in the squad and try to forge his way into the team. We were hoping to find the Emmanuel Eboue that played for Arsenal and Galatasaray, and played Champions League football and at the top end of the Premier League. 'At only 32, it looked as though from a fitness point of view that he still had those capabilities.
