Sunderland manager Steve Bruce faces a fight to land midfield target Charles Kabore, with Toulouse keen on the Marseille star.

Toulouse have placed Kabore at the top of their wanted list because Moussa Sissoko is heading towards the exit door, with big-spending Paris St Germain keen on him, along with Lyon.

Bruce has tracked Kabore since the turn of the year and is committed to bolstering his squad this summer, having already made a string of signings, including John O'Shea, Wes Brown and Connor Wickham.

And Burkina Faso international Kabore, 23, is in Bruce's sights as he looks to further improve his midfield - although Toulouse believe they are favourites to land him as he will be able to remain in France.

The Marseille midfielder is settled in France but is said to be keen on a challenge away from the club and that has alerted Bruce, with Toulose's interest now set to force his hand.

    This exactly.

Googled him and some paper talk came up linking him with Chelsea last year, so can't be too bad- it made him sound like a definite central player though, so not what we need. Gardner, Catts, Colback, Meyler and Sess will do fine in the middle. Steed and Rico if injury really hits.
