Off Topic Sunderland Gig this thursday (duo)

Hi All - just putting this on to advertise my gig in Sunderland this Thursday with my duo Revolver.

It's in a pub called "Angel's Place" which, I believe, is on Church Street East (just down from Cheers bar I think)

Be nice if any of you can make it - please introduce yourself. I'm the bald(ish) one - not the one with the long hair - he's called Alan Williamson and he's better than Slash!! (OK maybe not but he's awesome on guitar!)
Stuff from Fleetwood Mac, Kula Shaker, Floyd, Stones, Beatles, AC/DC and boatloads of others!

It's near the riverview health centre mate - just down the road from Cheers pub

 

Just checking it out.. It is down the East End.. Just wondering if it has recently changed its name as I thought I knew all of the bars down there..

 

Must admit I thought I was clued up on the bars down there as well. New one on me.

For the record - if anyone is going tonight - we've been told "The heavier the better" so expect Metallica, AC/DC and stuff like that all night!! We start at 8:00

 

I think this might be a bar frequented by the local hells angels and biker groups, hence the name.. I will get there if I can, but maybe stuck due to other committments..

 

Didn't it used to be called The Bush?

Or have they moved pubs?

The Bush used to be the headquarters of the Sunderland Black Angels..

 

Played a singles pool match there back in the early 80's.

Yes.. Black Angels were a dodgy bunch in those days.. These days the bike clubs are more likely to be seen raising money for charities..

He mate. Haven’t been n fir a while (and just ran the Sunderland 10k) was a cracking night. Big time bikers bar. Turned up to around 150 top end motorbikes lined up outside!!! Heavier the better. Playing Grindon in a couple of weeks but it’s a ****e gig! Full of ignorant people

 

I thought Grindon club was shut. Good at one time but never been in for about 10 years now.

 

Used to be a great gig. Sunday afternoon full. They’re just so ignorant in there now. I’d anyone on here is a regular then I apologise but everyone in there last time I played was ignorant as hell
