Is this the worst regional newspaper ??? If you live outside the NE and want news about your home town and in my case the football club, this paper fails on every conceivable level. Right now we on the cusp of a huge take over that will impact on the whole town not just SAFC and when I log on to their website...simply nothing. Do they have any journalists that can ask questions? can they get information. I'm not saying anything they write will hasten things up, but at least it keep fans informed. Take this morning..the worst performance from Sunderland, Ross taking flak from fans, the takeover still going on and what was their headline. Jack Colback not in the NUFC team photo...I couldn't give a shiney ****e about Jack Colback..absolute waste of time the Echo is.
No there's definitely worse ones. The one where I live is shocking but the Echo is crap for football news. I used to use their football app but it's just suddenly stopped working.
Never bought or read any newspaper For over 6 years No more inky dirty hands I get plenty news from my I pad and tv
Definitely one of the worst. You can buy the echo at 10am! How can you report today’s news at 10am? Think they use the same reporter’s to gather information as Sun Fm radio. They announced yesterday that we were at home to Sheffield Utd in the cup. I’ve gave up on both.
I lived at Shiney for twenty years mate and this is the first i've heard about the local stools having some kind of exclusivity. Can you curl out further info
I had a discussion with No1 Grandson yesterday, prior to the game, when I suggested that we might actually win this one. My view was dismissed by this arrogant youth who shows no respect for experience. So, full of myself I looked through my copy of The Echo today searching for the match report even before I started on the crosswords. NOWT THERE. I accept that the paper aint what it was since they transferred the printing 'out of town' but surely there could have got the game covered in todays edition. For a start the game was in Sheffield. The useless rag is printed in Sheffield, I'm told. I ask you, how long would it take to set up one page to cover the game? Are they still using old style technology? Are they even up to the moveable type stage? Of course the real question is am I a total nutter, paying 80p a day just for a couple of crossword puzzles?
I used to buy and read the Echo as part of my daily routine, but have stopped buying it now as it's not the same since it started to get printed in Sheffield.
You remind me that The Echo used to get The Football Echo, printed and into the shops 45 minutes after the end of the game. But the Sheffield printers couldn't get a mention of the game played in Sheffield till 36 hours, (or so) after the final whistle. Not my idea of progress at all.
