Agree in the sense that WICKLOW BRAVE screams lay bet!!

Lieutenant Conel ran a lovely debut behind Vautour and I think will keep improving. However, do not write off the other Gigginstown horse trained by Fenton- undone LTO in a small field but smashed his maiden field.

I expect Gigginstown to have the winner so Wicklow Brave is a nice lay.

Good luck on your first post ian and welcome , I have had a look at muss and will probably be going against your selections but at jumps and chases it will only be in your favour

    Musselburgh 1.00
This looks one very tight race on times/distance/conditions heises crowning jewels looks a good bet but seemd to struggle a little last time out and with the 71 days off if I was backing at 8s I would probrably be looking at the place only market . The favourite looks good pay the king but untested at the distance so the odds are to slim for my liking . The second favourite monetary fund has win only appeal and should avenge some of the rivals here easily but with a very poor form reading and 4s on offer I am not tempted enough .
The one that really floats my boat in this race has been ultra consistent of late with some very good times , an exeptional track record of 3 wins 1 second 1 third from 5 runs , the conditions should suit ! I do however have a slight concern but this is not the step up in class , Grant Cockburn takes the reigns today but this could be a shrewd move from A M Thomson as he claims the extra 7lbs of the already low weighted ANY GIVEN MOMENT . It is a sceptical bet but with 16s widely available I feel it holds the most value ew. Although I am on edge about the claimer Mr Cockburn I feel he has an exeptional chance on improving his stats on this inform 8 year old.

Portrait King back to the mark he won this off 2 years ago, and then followed up with win in Eider. 16's is a fair price for a horse on comeback trail so a little ew investment today

A warm welcome to you Ian, thanks for posting up your selections.

I agree and have backed Upepito at 6-4 best odds but have had my fingers burnt too often by Ericht, definitely a horse with a ton of ability however.

Really good racing today at Musselburgh, and I think Mssr Henderson might have a very good day with his raiders to the North.

Musselburgh 2.00 another tight race to take a chance on
Top weighted and 3rd in the bookies eye his exellency may be to weighted for this race
2nd favourite kie had a mare of a race last time out some 70 odd days ago after a massive break so well worth taking on in my eyes.
Swift arrow looks to have a nice weight today but 65 day lay off and pulled up last time here puts me off
Fav upepito looks to be planted in a fair race and could do what the market suggests but at 11/8 and working on time calcs I'm not intrested at all.
Quito du tresor has already been beat by the one im going to side with of similar weights and same jockeys.
Stormin exit looks to have an exeptional chance but my gut instinct is putting me off.
Miss Lucy Alexander takes CLARAGH NATIVE out for the third time the previous 2 read 21 the one being here and both at this distance so I think horse and jockey have forged a good understanding and consistent times . The fact the last 2 outings by claragh read 36 hold no concerns I think the trips were to far , claragh should go close here and the 14s on offer just twists my arm as a valueew

Pay The King could be ridiculously handicapped. I think he'll win this easy - money is there

Impressive front running display. Its amazing how many horses could be classed as non triers in these Pertemps races!

As anyone with memory will attest, I know next to nothing about the jump scene, but I do love a good slogathon. When mixed with a place called Punchestown, and a striking grey horse, how can I possibly go wrong? I've spent the better part of an hour going over the Grand National Trial Handicap Chase, and come to the conclusion that most of them are pie eaters. Some I suspect may even be just a short ferry ride away from a dinner plate somewhere in Ron's part of the world. But I digress, and for that I most humbly apologize. Please feel free to utterly dismiss what ever I post when it comes to UK racing, I promise I won't be offended by any barb thrown my way. So for what it's worth, I give you, at a quite generous each way quote, ........
