Slightly off topic but since the demise of the NOTW, I've bought a few of the other sunday papers and found the football supplement rubbish, For all of the NOTW faults the sports part was the best of the lot and as for the mirror - I wouldn't wipe my arse on it as I'd get sh!t on it!
i agree about the mirror, very poorly produced..I find the ink comes off onto my botty....had a picture of alex ferguson on my ass for a week...very upsetting...
I actually like the Sunday Times as a Sunday paper and the sports section is quite good - the cricket writers are very good, the rugby writers maybe not as good but the football writers are also decent - Jonathan Northcroft especially is a very under-rated writer.
Do not read the papers, it is all bollocks anyway? This forum/sky sports/BBC football is my sunday mornin' read before I go out to sort out my kids team.
telegraph has teh best sports writers by a mile IMO. They write decent sized articles and its not all sound bites
For all it's ills and terrible news and political analysis, not to mention the terrible things it did with regards phone hacking, the NOTW did have incredible sports coverage, really in-depth and top notch. The rumours page was my first port of call once it had arrived. And it's Score pull-out was brilliant. The Mirror sadly lacks all of this and is a poor substitute for it. I couldn't possibly buy the Times or Telegraph, though; my Labour roots would not allow me to!
