I note that clocks in UK went back an hour this weekend (next weekend in Canada), so usual KO times are off today - how did everyone enjoy their extra hour of sleep? Sunderland v Newcastle coming up should provide an interesting contest, so I'll gladly be switching over from Partick Thistle v Celtic (0-1, nice Samaras goal). Chelsea v Man City televised later & Tottenham v Hull, so glad I got my Sun chores in early today. Was hoping our game at Wigan on Wed might possibly be live streamed again on Bet365, but that evening they are covering League Cup games, Newcastle v Man City & Tottenham v Hull (playing again!). Let's hope that Charlton soften up Wigan today on our behalf.
Sunderland 1 up already.....Fletcher We're battening done the hatches here Kilburn, a huge Atlantic storm on way tonight, it may pass slightly to the south of us but they are still forecasting storm force winds for us and hurricane force for the south of England.....
Sunderland 1-0 up after 5 mins (Stephen Fletcher) - thought he had escaped the yellow card for going right into the crowd to celebrate - but it just came up. That rather silly offence is not evenly applied by refs (I remember Taarabt getting one, then later a 2nd yellow for a foul and a red). Yet Suarez was recently allowed to lift his shirt to show image of his new baby, without any yellow.
That reserve centreback Dummett is being roasted by Fletcher and Altidore, could be a hard day for Toon fans...
As a neutral, generally I root for the underdog in these games - so much less stressful compared to watching us play - you can actually relax and try and enjoy the football spectacle. Wonder if Remy will add to his tally? With that Atlantic storm on it's way, I imagine that beautiful County Clare beach that I enjoyed in 1969, camped nearby in our caravan, will be a wild place tonight?
Yes, Atlantic facing coasts will be lashed by the storm. Clare is a beautiful county Kilburn. Flyer is familiar with it too and Kiwi.
Watching the NE Derby game. The two strips look very similar on TV. At times it is hard to tell who is who. Remy subbed off.
Perhaps we could send him one of ours to help turn things around? Pope Francis pictured with Sunderland shirt ahead of derby please log in to view this image "Troubled Sunderland may have been anything but infallible this season, but one man appears to be keeping the faith. Pope Francis has been given a personalised Black Cats shirt ahead of this weekend's derby clash with arch-rivals Newcastle United. The shirt was presented to him by Father Marc Lyden-Smith, who is Sunderland Football Club's chaplain. He is in Rome with Bishop Seamus Cunningham and a group of pilgrims"
Brilliant goal and brilliant win for Sunderland. I'd love them to stay up, as that increases the chances of my dream 3 to be relegated.......Norwich, Stoke and Cardiff!! ( Although I realise that Palace look doomed, so I'd take my dream 2 to be relegated....Norwich and Stoke)
Ahead of our game, at half-time, Wigan look like they are having a fairly uneventful game at Charlton - no goals, no cards, even possession.
Was Torres watching our Richard Dunne yesterday? But he is a striker and should have put that ball in the net. He just made up for it though with that pass for their goal.
Joe Hart lost City the game. Absolutely atrocious goalkeeping, should never have been out there, never.
