It's my daughters birthday as well so would be great if I was fit enough to travel up that day, could kill 2 birds with 1 stone so to speak.

Interested to read that an invite had been sent out to the surviving members of the class of 1959/60 season to attend the big day. this of course would be the last side to be promoted to the big league. A time when Everton ironically nicknamed 'The Millionaires', were as the name implies one of the richest clubs at that time, and there was not a lot of money to be gained from such an accomplishment as promotion, as indeed there is now. A quick survey shows their current situation as thus:

    GK Ron Nicholls (Deceased)
    GK Graham Vearncombe (Deceased)
    DF Colin Baker
    DF Danny Malloy
    DF Alec Milne
    DF Frank Rankmore
    DF Ron Stitfall (Deceased)
    DF Derek Sullivan
    MF Alan Durban
    MF Steve Gammon
    MF Alan Harrington
    MF Barrie Hole
    MF Graham Moore
    MF Brian Walsh
    FW Joe Bonson
    FW Colin Hudson
    FW Steve Mokone (Deceased)
    FW Derek Tapscott (Deceased)
    FW Johnny Watkins

The superb Colin Baker, and Alan Harrington, both welsh internationals, lived in lodgings in my street in Canton, and I would love to see them again, and of course the pin up boy and magic goal scorer Graham Moore. I must have collected their autographs a million times as I spent nost of my youth down at Ninian Park, watching them train, even had a kick about as a youngster with Don Murray! Great days! <cool>
