I wouldn’t be at all surprised if the winner of this years Pertemps doesn’t qualify in tomorrow’s race at Musselburgh

Yes, am also looking forward to seeing Toothless tomorrow. Let's hope for some bite, I say bite, from the old boy. I would imagine that connections would be looking for a nice win but one that doesn't see a massive increase to his handicap mark (currently 131).

Quite a day for his family tomorrow. As Toothless' half-brother also runs - in the Grade 1 Dublin Chase.

And while I'm on can I also say that there is another Knotted Midge offspring loitering on the periphery and set to make her bow (almost certainly in a bumper) in the not too distant future - perhaps even as early as the backend of next week. The 5YO Milan mare is monikered Love Bite (whether or not that is a lovely name for a mare is, I guess, a debate for another day). That makes the old girl a half-sister to Might Bite (RSA Chase victor, King George VI Chase winner and CGC runner-up) and a full sister to the dual Grade 1 winning hurdler, Beat That. Certainly on breeding an exceptional prospect, methinks.

I like the Greatrex runner <ok> but will the Bective House runner actually run? Anyone heard why their 3 were scratched at Leopardstown Saturday?

Impressive as Mighty Potter was in the Drinmore, he will be faced with very different going today and might be vulnerable to a speedier type. Same applies to Gaillard Du Mesnil (who is surely better over further) and I think James Du Berlais could be the answer. The same owners could also land a memorable 1-2 in the Dublin Chase although 1/4 Blue Lord makes no appeal from a betting perspective. Hopefully my old fav Sceau Royal can put his best foot forward on the favourable surface but he is realistically playing for 2nd place. I think Honeysuckle could give State Man more of a fight today and it should be much closer between them. In the novice hurdle it is good to see Mullins running 2 others against Facile Vega in what will clearly be his biggest test to date. I think High Definition still lacks experience to trouble the fav today and the one who could give the fav most to think about is Irish Point, who represents the Royal Bond form of Marine Nationale.

Interesting to see Vanillier being backed for the Grade A Handicap at 2.40. Former Cheltenham winner who has by in large struggled for form since. It is usually wise to pay attention when one of Gavin Cromwell's is being supported like this and it will be interesting to see if it sustains through to post time. I think he was as big as 18 or 20/1 last night and has now been backed into single figures in places.

That is a cracking handicap chase. Elliott has got Indigo Breeze (just a neck behind The Real Whacker at Cheltenham in November) in off a mark where he really could be "chucked in" and Real Steel was excellent last time out.

I do hope your wrong STH. I’ve had Vanillier down a few times as one to pop up but overlooked him for the green and gold Illikethewayurthinkin (or something like that <laugh>)
