In the bumper at CARLISLE I am going with the forecast outsider BORDER BANDIT (25-1 forecast price). He has a nice enough pedigree and was unraced on the flat with Godolphin. Sold for just 2,500 in May but I will still give him a chance tomorrow. Think the price is more to do with the trainer. In the opener at Leopardstown I like the look of TWIRL (1.00) this one is bred in the purple and is a full sister to Misty For Me. Wonderful - may well be the first string on paper but any market support for Twirl would look significant. Will be looking to take an early price because seen countless times these ones supported just 10 minutes before the off. Have taken the 8/1 about Twirl at 9am this morning and fancy her to go off a lot shorter The Killavullan stakes (1.35 Leopardstown) promises to be an exciting renewal. Born To Sea looked special on debut when winning a listed heat and this half brother to Sea The Stars would be a popular winner, however NEPHRITE looked very good on debut and offers more value at 11/4 (BOG). In the 3.05 at Leopardstown I am going to give THOMASGAINSBROUGH one more chance, the way he has been punted on both starts so far would suggest he is highly though of and hopefully he can make it third time lucky tomorrow. Over at Wexford Donnas Palm makes his chasing debut and looks to have leading claims in the 3.55 if taking to fences. He could be worth a bet if he opens up anywhere near his forecast odds of 11/4
Good write up RV,it does look a cracking maiden. Hard to ignore Drops, although jockey bookings suggests she is not high up the pecking order so far.First foal of Alexandrova by Kingmamabo...regardless of performance, she will be a cracking brood mare.
1.40 Carlisle Notus De La Tour - nap nap nappity nap Doubling it up with Hidden Keel in the 3.15 to try and recoup yesterday's losses on Time For Rupert <ouch>
"Dano, get on this Fatcatinthehat (named after Oddy) goes for the 1 mile maiden. He ran a blinder on his debut at Galway and a reproduction of that form would give him a chance here. The trip suits and he won't mind the ground. Raptor makes his debut over fences in the 2m 3f beginners chase. He jumps well and will handle the ground. He might prefer a longer trip but, granted a clear round, we will be disappointed if doesn't go close. We run a very nice filly called Dr Machini in the mares bumper. Our bumper horses have been running well and, if the ground dries out a bit, this one won't be far away, so theres 3 for you today big fella" AlsO Stopped Out beats Oddies nap nap nappity nap Fairynuff places I Got Sunshine wins the bumper
Agree with your Nap Odddy - should win mate by far the best of these over hurdles and on looks he good make a good chaser
Stopped Out 2nd race at Carlisle Was with Niall Hannity when Richie McGrath schooled this over the big fences on the top moor at Middleham, very very impressed, Hannity said this wins next time out but since then when schooled again refused !!!!!! up against Notus De La Tour and on the drift to 5s with PP so i will go EW (only 7 in race) Also like Fairynuff and at 14s is EW value Reveleys Like the bumper horse I Got Sunshine and if its any value will back these 3 and Sticks Loose Chips EW Singles and EW Lucky 15 Be Happy Stay Frosty
Twirl gets in to the places and will be the best from that field in time - lovely introduction and not touched by Heff
Hello lads. Nothing for me today..yet...powers of concentration severly mitigated by consuming copious amounts of grog last evening. Twirl ran a nice race RV and the second gave the form of Up,a filly I really like,a good boost.Good little race that.
Dex I really like UP as well - backed her on debut and felt she travelled like the best horse in the race before lack of a run got her and she faded. Loved her win last time out and I think she goes to the BC with a big chance and is nice prices for the fillies Juvenile Turf (12/1) or Dirt (25/1) will be backing her
BONFIRE in the 1.30 at Saint Cloud- looked a very useful prospect on debut when winning a fair Salisbury maiden on soft ground. Ran green that day but still stayed on strongly. Step up to 1m will suit and 7/1 seems a nice price.
Dex, for what it's worth, I've gone for one on the minimum, Niwot each way, but I think Americain will run a cracker, even if he does carry the grandstand.
One for me today runs in the 2.40 Carlisle and is the Charlie Longsden trained MINELLA BOYS 10/1 (EW) distance wont be a problem and the ground suits and the stable are up and running where they left off from last year and have a decent strike rate, the biggest danger is his stablemate and the useful French bred chaser QILHIMAR 5/1
Only one for me today in the shape of 3.50 Carlisle Arisea 10/1 who blew the start LTO by about 20L but still plugged on to be a fast finishing 3rd 7.25L behind the winner at Uttoxeter earlier in the month. It also seemed that jockey Joel Belbin had a bit more horse under him than was shown and he perhaps pushed the button a bit too late. Belbin takes the ride again and his valuable 10lb claim allows Arisea to race off a mark of effectively 89. Trip and ground should be fine and if breaking on terms today he should go very close at a nice price.
Odddy Nap landed easily mate well done - hope the other comes in for you . Danbo on the 2nd mate money back at least
Cheers Cyc... Well done on Nephrite RV...looks useful and interesting the money for him before.BTS had the run of the race and there doesn't appear to be any excuses for him.Far too early to write him off however. Like the winner in the Saint Cloud race.He was going away from Bonfire at the end, despite the latters hindered passage.Frustrating to see a complete no hoper delaying proceedings and getting some of the other runners a bit fractious.
