Proper racing today with obstacles to overcome -I'm out on my bike so will miss most of it -what chances on Green law up north -must have as good as any -got a front runner to set the pace and hopefully pounce

A big thanks for all the advice re Cartmel yesterday - we had 4 winners between us so still had enough left for a sticky toffee pudding . Henry Brooke rode 2 brilliantly judged races - one to defy dickie on the hotpot ! And the call on desert cry and abbey storm where top draw - cheers boys . Ps I'm no fan of Simply Red but the ginger can still sing ..

A family day out at Uttoxeter awaits where my 5 yo colt will be making his racecourse debut. A free going sort I suspect the fairground and magic show will hold far more appeal to him than the racing. Malcolm Jefferson sends just 1 down from Yorkshire. Pair of Jacks in the feature handicap chase. Brian Hughes' only ride too and will carry my cash @ 14s. Sun set to shine all day and no work tomorrow. Marvellous.

Great you had a good day at the races, Ekbalco. You mentioned Simply Red, seem to remember my daughter (when a teenager) went all the way to Stuttgart to see them at a concert. Without looking at Google, is Ginger's name Hucknall, or something like that?

16:05 Kelso - Nowurhurlin

(Second in this Hunters' Chase last year. Would prefer more cut in the ground but still should give a good account).
