CONSGLIERE 3-1 Sedgefield 2.45 won at Ayr in January 2013 off a mark of 138, won at Wincanton January 2012 off a mark of 136. Both wins on soft ground. He obviously takes a bit of time to get fully fit these days and likes a bit of cut so everything looks cherry ripe for him tomorrow. Dropped to a mark of 136 again tomorrow and there will be plenty of cut for him. The yard is in good nick and for good measure have legged the claimer up to get some more off his back despite the fact that Tom Scudamore is there to ride the yards other run. A five star bet in my opinion!
I like one at Wolverhampton 2.55 ALBEN STAR 4/1 Drop in grade and a small field can see him back to winning ways at a course he is 2/4 at. Double with Sticks to pay for the beers
Really fancy Felix Yonger in the Irish Arkle and 5/2 rates a substantial investment for me. He's got the beating of the field. Will appreciate going left handed again and thrives at this kind of trip with the stiff uphill finish. Defy Logic won a grade one last time out so could have improved since they last met but there really would need to be a tremendous reversal of fortunes for Felix to succumb to that one. I think Felix will win tomorrow and go on to do the double at Cheltenham in March. It's my bet of the season so far at 5/2.
Don't understand why the bookies have Jezki priced up shorter than Our Conor tomorrow? Jezki came in as fit as a flea the last day, obviously hadn't the smoothest passage in the race, but surely Our Conor is entitled to come on bundles more. Proper race this. I won't be playing but the Hurricane Fly / Our Conor straight forecast could be the way to go for those of that disposition!
I'm with Bob about Felix Yonger and also coupled him with OC (no surprise there!) I can't watch the racing tomorrow, but am recording for evening playback. Good luck with your bets unless you are taking on mine!
Have backed Felix Yonger too - Bob you have converted me lol but Reebs have put him in a double the Fly! He will remain unbeaten, has his jockey, has his track and his ground he will win!!
Rock The World 3/1 1:00 Leopardstown Jessie Harrington's 6 yo has run with a lot of credibility in some good bumpers and maiden hurdles thus far, racing against Faugheen in his bumper win and Gilt Shadow - (runs in the Grade 2 NH 3:10) and not been disgraced one bit, his best effort clearly was his last effort where he ran the very highly regarded Sizing Tennessee to 3.75 length's at Navan last month with BJ Geraghty back on board as he is again today. A similar run to that will make him hard to beat in this maiden hurdle with Powder Hound rating the danger receiving weight and having chased home the potentially smart Abbyssial on his maiden hurdle debut last month. Shadows Lengthen 6/1 Sedgefield 2:45 If this horse reproduces some of his past form he is sure to be in with a cracking shout today, he has been eased 4lb's over his last two runs which put's him in here at 128 and with Jake Greenall taking 3lb off he effectively races off 125 and in April last year slammed Kruzhlinin (now rated 144) by 12 lengths of a mark of 126 that day. It is possible the horse is regressing but if he can find some of that old spark he rates a danger as the outsider in this small field and with course form is worth the risk for me. Defy Logic 9/4 Leopardstown 1:30 Felix Yonger is obviously the one to beat, but with the rain falling and rain forecast for here tomorrow I can see Defy Logic making all and proving very difficult to peg back in the conditions which he appears to thrive on and with McCoy up top it makes me more confident this is his race tomorrow as I think the finish will suit his power packed riding style. Good luck to all having a go tomorrow as usual
I would be on Felix Yonger and I think he is the better horse but the rain and ground is a massive worry. Much better horse on better ground. Having said that I think Defy Logic isn't as good as his beating of Champagne Fever suggests. If I were to bet on this I would play Mozoltov in the hope he can spring a bit of an upset. Defy Logic the most likely winner in these conditions but don't want to take that short a price about a horse that is a bit of a nutcase!
Going to give fairweather friend an ew blast in the first , seen a couple of races ago and wasnt disgraced looks value in what could be tight with so many questions
Defy Logic 7/4 & Hurricane Fly 8/13 double pays 3.44/1. Defy Logic was well below par at Punchestown the last day, I'm supremely confident he'll have the upper hand on Felix Yonger. This is JAILCASE material lads!
Ground is a concern. He might not jump out of it as well as he does in better conditions. My money is down so can't do anything about it now. Having watched the first race i'm not as worried about that as I was. It looks wet but not terrible. Really excited to see how he gets on.
Is Trifolium simply a different horse with Cooper on his back? Reversed form with Defy Logic and Felix Yonger in no uncertain terms.
Well sorry if you backed Felix based on my confidence boys. I knew he'd beat Defy Logic and didn't expect the rest of the field to get involved. Mallowney fell and it checked Felix and he put in a bad jump 4 out which also hindered progress. I'm still very happy with my ante post for the Arkle and feel a little hard done by not to be celebrating a win there but with the ground going against him i'm not completely upset with that performance.
