In the Betfair Hurdle tomorrow I like the look of Mr Coffey.. I backed him earlier at 10/1 and surprised how quickly his price has contracted.. certainly money about for him as low as 7/1 now. He looks like a horse with a lot of class to me and I think he s gonna run a massive race tomorrow....
wow , the yard seem to be really struggling for winners , nearly as bad as nicholls at the moment , that’s as fierce a handicap as you’ll ever get , dangers lurking everywhere,Shake Em Up Arry !
The race is a lottery. I bet him this morning just to have something in such a fun race with so many horses. The only thing I'm really interested in is that Gumball doesn't do well and comes back safe and sound, I've got him for Cheltenham. There is a lot of money for the winner (more than the Festival handicaps), and I don't think his owners will mind him ruining their mark (Cadzand e.g.).
Am greatly looking forward to the return to the track of Champ (3.00) and The Conditional (2.25), at Newbury, of the morrow. However, in my opinion neither are betting propositions as for both the races are mere ‘preps’ for much bigger targets later in the campaign. Tomorrow, people, is their ‘hors d’oeuvres’ not the main course. A pair that I will nominate, at Newbury, though are: MILL GREEN (4.10) – makes his fencing bow in this heat. Over hurdles this son of Black Sam Bellamy had decent form winning 3 times and also finished a close 6th, off 140, at the Festival back in March. Has always given the impression he will be a better chaser than hurdler and off 141 I would expect Mill Green to oblige here. Warmed up for a chasing career with a very satisfactory effort in a ‘Jumpers Bumper’ 12 days ago. Eye-catchingly, the dam of Mill Green is a half-sister to one of my all time favourite horses of all time – Barbers Shop. HORN CAPE (4.45) – quite notably that the forum’s favourite trainer debuts this gelding in an event as classy as Listed level. Especially as this is an event the yard do well in with 3 winners since ’08. Horn Cape won well on his second start across The Channel before being snapped up by current connections. Some lovely, promising types in this race but I expect Horn Cape to be the most loveliest of all. Good luck, team.
The yard obviously not firing at their usual high percentage but they are still operating at figures that most would kill for! Of the last 9 runners only 2 have not won or placed – and they were a 25/1 outsider, with little chance and, tragically, a horse who was pulled-up injured. I’m quite confident a return to full form will be in place come the Festival when every horse will be primed and 100% fit rather than ‘prepping’ or being tuned up. Maybe that kick start can commence in the last 2 races at Newbury tomorrow. Here’s hoping anyway.
Beacon Edge 5/1 in the Boyne hurdle tomorrow. Back up in trip is a help and he's a stylish horse who I think travels very well up witht the pace. He was only beaten 0.63 of a length to Honeysuckle on his penultimate start, he's young and improving and being by Doyen should relish this test. Fury Road is the obvious one to beat and we will also see Grand National hero Tiger Roll try win the race for the second time in 3 years. French Dynamite and Sixshooter could play a hand too but I feel Beacon Edge has the class to overcome them all tomorrow Good luck anyone having a bet. Might try one in the betfair hurdle perhaps, Milkwood sticks out after one glance through it at 14's. I'll hold fire on that until closer to post time.
er , odds on shots getting beat is not really sign of top form , did they have a winner today ? nicholls had one i think ,
I posted on another thread about one of their runners today. A most promising 2nd place for Champagne Platinum in the ‘Pertemps Qualifier’ up at Haydock. Has since that effort been very well backed for the Final itself. But no, no winners today. Tomorrow though is another day…
Market Rasen 1:30 Against All Odds 11/2 - Another trainer in great form, Laura Morgan has had 4 winners from her last 5 runners. The horse won on hurdle debut (the 2nd that day has came out and won since in better company) and then was 3rd last time in a listed race, well beaten in that but this race looks more realistic. Lazy betting day at Newbury, will be following Harry Cobden through the card. He has 7 rides, most in with a good chance. Be a good day for Nicholls horses to find some form.
Yard aren't doing too badly and it can easily be different day tomorrow. They had a winner 3 days ago and some very good placed efforts today. Obviously in a race like this the betfair hurdle you ll need a bit of luck in running but I get the impression this has been the main target this season and he ll be primed for this...
Morning all.. A good days racing ahead and it looks like the ground at Newbury won't be too bad..Bets today: Newbury 1.50pm Howling Milan 20/1 each way 6 places. Unfortunately he s become a bit unreliable this season but he s well at home and if he puts his best foot forward he can be involved in the finish. Dropping down the weights, ground more to his liking and he gets on well at Newbury. Newbury 3.00pm Fanion d'estruval 5/1 win. Backed this fella at Cheltenham, he was going well at the time until tipping up and his last effort behind First Flow wasn't too shabby. Gets weight from the top two and has a big chance in this. Newbury 3.35pm Mr Coffey 10/1 each way 5 places. As per earlier post think he s got some class about him, will enjoy the better ground and has already won at Newbury in a big field. Will need some luck in running but I really do fancy him for this.. Good luck all!
Morning all, great day for a bike ride so wont see racing , however , two I fancy are Silent Assistant 1 50 new , very in form emma labelle, Ben jones top claimer , his form stacks up , low weight , a plot? 12/1 Last race at uttoxeter, 4 52 or so , Dharan , handicap debut from a yard going great atm, Sean Bowen v capable , think it will win doing handstands and Sean can be seeing looking around for signs of opposition! Maybe not but 9/2 seems v fair

With you on the Nicholls/Cobden selections at Newbury, could be a very good day for them both but now I'm looking at it probably not even get one . Nicholls also has 1 runner at Uttoxeter which is Fav too.
