Not a guineas horse in sight there, not expecting a lot from the National Stakes either as I think The Pentagon may be Obriens best colt and he is a Derby horse. The so called wonder horse that scraped home at Newmarket is a boat.

Expert Eye so far looks levels above everything else.

Oh dear. Just got in after seeing my wife, daughter and grandson off to Spain. Still shows the importance of watching the market. Someone knew something. Whether it was positive about the winner or negative about Beckford, I don't know.

From what Gary O'Brien was saying trackside, it was positivity for Sioux Nation and nothing negative about Beckford. Actress was supported for the small each way thieves as well, which in turn caused Beckford to slide marginally. Nice race that was.

Look forward to seeing Beckford up at 2 miles over hurdles in 3 years time <laugh> <run>

Your old mate Caravaggio is likely to run in the Flying Five at Curragh next month I am hearing Eduardo. A step back in trip as well as class. Back to the drawing board to get him pinging his gate correctly, which they can hopefully put right.

Hawkbill turned over in Hoppergarten the day as well, dropped back to 1 mile 3 furlongs.

I want to see him at 5 as I said, I would have went straight to the Nunthrope after the July Cup. The 6 1/2 race in France isnt exactly the most prestigious Group 1 sprint, especially for a horse with the fastest ever tag.

I know it seems counter-intuitive to the visual impression he has given over 6f but thats why I am one of the top judges in Europe, glad the lads at Ballydoyle have finally cottoned on and taken my advice to go to the minimum trip.

Hawkbill beaten at 1m4 in a Group 1? Whod a thought it? you dont get those small field G2 leads at the top table im afraid, no breathers given.

Exactamundo

Btw, you've broken into the top 10 judges globally now, so it's worldwide and not Europe.

Plumped for two short priced runners coming up...

Sharlanda 5/2 Downpatrick 3.50 - in great form now, move back to hurdles appears to be a wise one and he can chalk up a hat rick with a clear round.

Edit: chalk up 3 from 4 it should read.

Snowstar 2/1 Curragh 4.40 - Should have enough in hand if the 4lb claimer can time his run right towards the finish, I don't think he'll be caught today.

That will do donkey, that will do.

Sharlanda wins again with ease, 2.75 lengths pulling up and an sp of 10/3 was not expected, but much appreciated.

Likewise, Snowstar's run went how I envisaged and he wasn't for passing once he hit the lead today. Won at 3/1 as well so that makes two nice drifts and 2 clear cut winners.

You lads must be all watching the All Ireland hurling semi final, I can't blame ya's. Going to be a thrilling finish.

I'm really puzzled by the two 6f races at the Curragh. The time difference was 0.05 secs. The 2yo race was a G1 and they all carried 9.3. The G3 run 30 mins later was a wfa race with the 4yo winner carrying 9.7. If the 2yo had been in that race he would have been carrying 7.7 <yikes>. What?
