Does anyone know where we are with players signing in the summer. I'd like to see Brady, King & obviously Mannone tied up along with a direct striker. Henderson would be my pickbut we won't go for him. Who would you want?
We absolutely have to bring players in. The club must have realised what a massive wasted opportunity this year has been and how easily it could have been made so much better, they must know that with a couple of quality additions this team can go places. It's obviously important to keep our best players but we have to bring better ones in too.
I agree. At the end of the year we looked to be in great nick and ready to move up a gear and really impose ourselves on this division. It was undeniably the perfect time to add a few key players and really go for it. Unless something changes dramatically with our attack I think history will record the lack of transfer activity in January and the loan window was the pivotal decision that scuppered our season.
Definitely. We were all convinced at that time over Christmas that we would go on and climb further. I don't remember anyone thinking that point was going to be our peak and that was a big opportunity to have a real go at the top of the table. The fact that it's gradually gone downhill from there is very disappointing.
Sharp went for around £1.8m Maynard went for a similar figure as did Vaz Te and we paid £1.3m for Mclean
I'm dreading next season if things carry in as they have been, mid table mediocrity would be a huge achievement.
This season has been great but I fear it might take the offloading of someone like Chester, Rosie or Stewart to give us the financial clout to go out and improve If we can generate the likes of £2-3m on one or more of those then it would really allow us to push on One step back two steps forward....
We weren't all convinced at all. Some people felt there was the opportunity to push on and move higher providing January was handled correctly to address the weaknesses in the squad (either quality or depth). Going downhill is disappointing, it's unfortunately not surprising.
