I've not seen us linked to a player with a shred of credible. It's all bollocks from local useless journalists who know **** all.

Newcastle are some of the slowest in the transfer market

I think last season Tottenham signed six whilst we signed 1 in the same time span

Im always torn when conversations move onto this. On the one hand I look at how much you've spent and also some other teams (Chelsea obviously stand out at the moment too) and it makes me ponder how people can denounce Pep as if spending money guarantees success. On the other hand I wonder why I should care about cost and value, if we were to sign Madison for £30m it would seem great but for £100m bad. It's not my money though.

Perhaps the only thing I'll praise Pep for is that while he spends a king's ransom wherever he goes, he seldom buys a dud.

This has given City an edge more than anything else in recent years. Whereas United and Chelsea have similar net spends if not greater, look at how much of that money was pissed up a wall. City on the other hand have done really well - only Kalvin Phillips and Benjamin Mendy stand out as big money wastes across a period stretching back over 6 years, and the latter was more down to him being a bit of a Don Juan than his ability on the pitch.

The only team to really threaten them in recent seasons was Liverpool, surprise surprise, after a sustained period of successful signings in the market. That threat has faded as City continue to strike gold but Pool signed duds.

No idea what gives him such an edge tbh. Definitely helps that they have his entire backroom team from Barca days in place to help in selecting transfer targets. But their success rate since he joined is freakishly good.

@Roy Munson You put on here that Barella and Maddison would be signing for the Toon. Seems like Barella isnt interested and Maddison prefers Spurs.

You're defo ending up with McTominay and Maguire from Utd.

Wouldn't surprise me the McTominay one in particular.

I dunno….there’s a few that didn’t do much imo

Danilo 30 mill
Ferran Toress 33 mill
Kalvin Philips 40 mill
Nolito 18 mill
Mandy 57 mill
Cancelo 65 mill

Class all them as duds…Im sure there’s more

Leroy Sane £52 mill…he didn’t last long either…decent on their day like most players but long term duds

What Pep can do is quickly replace the duds regardless of their initial cost no eyelids batted. Then you get clubs like us who still have their duds like Ndombele and we can’t just go and replace him at the next opportunity therefore it becomes a big deal for us.

Lots of myths surrounding the Pep and his magical abilities when the reality is his mistakes are just buffered with the most money.

Think Chelsea spend more mate ...

Pep builds teams - as did Sir Alex ... for me both were able to see a 'core' of key players, then continually (successfully) fill in the pieces around those key players ... and also had the nous / balls to move players on at the right time ...

Maybe Chelsea do spend more, maybe Pep does build teams but that doesn’t remove him from the fact that he signs duds as well.

The only ‘piece around those key players’ Kalvin Philips has filled is the space on the bench.

Spaces on the bench give a poor overall impression mate ... and Kalvin brings a rather funky hairstyle ...

Kalvin Philips > Harry Kane

Your lot need to sign Saka mate, he's got 8 to 9 years on Kane and clearly is the new beginning, Spurs need to do an transfer swap with Arsenal just for the bantz. Especially if Spurs then win a trophy, we need to see this happen.
