I had no idea Clyne was on our books as a youngster.

I popped over to the famous SCITK board last night, some believe Wimmer is pretty much done, others saying Schneiderlin is a possibility, one has rulen out Lavezzi despite a few rumours in the media, no one has mentioned Konoplyanka yet, though.
You may as well take out the middleman and go straight to NewsNow: Bild reported that we'd agreed a fee for WImmer on Saturday (which was also reported in the Mirror on Sunday), while the Standard reported how the odds of our signing Schneiderlin had been slashed as long ago as last Wednesday.

Saw an article on Facebook that stated that Lavezzi had agreed in principle to a 4 year contract and was waiting for the clubs to work out a fee.
Believe that if you will.

A lot of places reporting we're getting Lavezzi, and a couple that Martinez is coming, the former for 10.7 million, supposedly. I have no idea if there's anything to either, but:

A 30 year old winger and a 28 year old striker would be a change of direction in our transfer policy. Lavezzi would seem like a canny signing to me, except, perhaps, for the fact that he prefers to play on the left, like all our other midfielders. As far as Martinez goes, all strikers are huge gambles. The fact that he's never played in a top league, let alone the Prem, would certainly be a concern. His 2/3 strike rate for Porto is certainly impressive, though. He is in theory ideal to either pair with or take the burden off Kane. (Though Soldado before our acquisition of him would have been as well.)

With the Chelsky game the other day, and the thought of their partnership running
riot in the U21s this summer, I still hope that a Kane/Berahino combo could happen
at Spurs.

But if he has a stormer, we will get outbid by someone. :(

The Mirror are claiming that Sherwood will look to bring in Adebayor if Benteke is sold in the summer, which seems pretty likely.
Fancy a swap, Tim? <whistle>

I would like Benteke, would a cheeky £15m - £20m + Ade bid tempt Sherwood? I read somewhere Pool are favourites to sign him though, with the way they like to splash cash we would probably get outbid.

According to Metro (great start, I know...) Poch met with Levy and singled out Soldado, Paulinho, Capoue and Chiriches as players he'd like to use to raise transfer funds this summer.

The papers are constructing a narrative for us: various papers and sites have linked us with a £10.7m move for Ezequiel Lavezzi, and today there's talk of Juventus bidding £25m for Lamela - all of which neatly ties this little narrative up. Apart from the obvious problem, namely Lavezzi is already 30 and has no resale value, and those are two reasons why he doesn't fit into the Levy's business model for the club - while Lamela does.

Also, while it may be a blog with the sum total of 0 sources, here's a "welcome" return of the Rabiot Watch: http://tottenhamhotspur.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/spurs-still-chasing-rabiot.html

Interesting, though who knows what truth there is in any of it. I would think I'm one of a small minority who thinks Lamela may be worth a bid of 25 million and would even vaguely consider not taking it. And even I think the need of solving our lefty/right imbalance issue (all our midfielders are better on the left or in the center, it seems) probably makes it a wise choice. Note that Chelsea, the most successful team playing our formation, has a player (Willian) whose main role is to provide width on the right side, stretch the defense and create opportunities for Hazard and Costa.

That's my main criticism of the Lavezzi speculation, as it puts another left-sided player on the pitch while pretending that Chadli doesn't exist.

True, plenty can be said about how Chadli is an upgraded Clint Dempsey (he scores goals but does bugger all else), but if we're thinking of upgrading on Chadli why not do what Roma did a couple of seasons ago - or what Juventus are supposedly thinking of doing next season - and play Lamela there? That's what we paid a ****load of money for in the first place!

Wimmer signed according to sky sports
Their chairman has confirmed his exit, but has claimed that the club he's joining have asked them not to say where he's going.
Nobody told Wimmer though, apparently, as he's told the press it's us. <doh>
