Fox is not versatile enough that's why he's failing.

His one of the only central players in our team who is comfortable on the ball and has the vision to spot people, we have defensive and box to box midfielders but we don't have deep lying playmakers. His reliable as he keeps around the same area, his always looking for the ball and distributes it neatly most of the time.

Just seen on SSN that GH has passed his medical and is going to sign a 4 year contract!!! -http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11709/8840784/transfer-news-celtic-striker-gary-hooper-passes-medical-at-norwich

GH passed medical and has signed? Hurray thought he had gone forever

Just step back a minute. Before we talk about signing 2 more, 3 more or 4 more how many, with Hooper, have we already got towards the squad of 25?

I honestly don't know why you are always so worried about the 25 man rule 1950, you do this every summer but it is never, ever going to be a problem. McNally is well aware of how many players we have, he's not stupid, honestly.

We're not going to have a situation like when Woosie's caddie left an extra iron in his bag <laugh>

We did last year with Ward!! My point was not aimed at McNally, who I have the utmost respect for, but against the people who, every transfer window, suggest buy, buy buy without any consideration as to what room there is left in the squad for them.

At the moment we have 24 plus Redmond, assuming that Barnett moves on. That would allow for a 4th striker or an AM, or better still a player who can play both positions. If Ayala goes on loan, another CB could come in. For any further players to come in an existing first team player has to be left out or leave.

While we are on the subject of versatility, the player I would most like to see more versatility from is Wes. People keep on saying that he's a terrific player made to look poor at times by not having the quality he needs around him. But if your team mates can't do what you'd like them to do when you need them to do it, you adapt YOUR game to them a bit more. Also, it is no good being a player who only shines when the team is set up one way, which I think is the main reason Wes hasn't featured that often for the RoI in the past. Wes is a good player, but he could have been, and maybe still could be, a much better player. If he wants to be on the team sheet week in week out, he needs to adapt more than he has shown he is capable of in the past. <ok>

Interesting comment on a sky sports article about Hooper

It has to be said that Norwich improved their strikeforce more than any other team this offseason. Hooper and Van Wolfswinkel may not be better players than Negredo and Jovetic, overall, but the upgrade is much greater than for Manchester City.

I don't think leaving Ward out was a mistake...

We'll be okay don't worry.

I know the position might not be number one but if the money is there I'd be very tempted to match Cardiffs bid for Capoue

Maloney, Maloney, Maloney!! Sorry really rate him and think he is a better than Wes and could really be the decent link player......with us doing good business with Wigan for Holt earlier may be able to work a favour the other way round. How much would you say his worth? Would he be a good signing?

just seen Fotheringham has moved again - this time to Notts County - he is still only 29 - amazing luck to still be convincing people to sign him!
