Arsenal are reportedly ready to pay the release clause of Roma Sporting Director Monchi, Leggo reports. The Spanish director is a long time target of the Gunners who are now coached by Unai Amery, a close friend of Monchi as well as Sevilla's coach when Monchi was the Director of football of the Spanish club.

Monchi has a € 3 million clause that Arsenal are determined to pay at the end of the season.

Being linked to Villareal playmaker Pablo Fornals.
Napoli and Man City have been monitoring him also. Very good player IMO. Would be a quality Ramsey replacement.

Twitter mainly - also newsnow for up to date football Arsenal stuff.

We were linked to Fornals in the Summer also. Actually think there may be some validity to this rumour.

I have to say I think Ismail Sarr from Renne would be a decent signing for Arsenal. Still only 21 he's quick, strong and was a real handful in both games.

Yeah completely agree, he's an exceptional talent. I hope the rumours are true that we enquired about him to Rennes. Would be a great acquisition.

Coutinho looks like he may be on his way out at Barca. Would be a great signing IMO.

The Mirror reporting that Umtiti (Barca) and Alaba (Bayern) top our Summer transfer wish-list alongside an attacking midfielder.

    Would we be happy with...

    ------------------------Leno--------------------------
    Bellerin-----Sokratis-------Umtiti--------Alaba

    --------------------------Leno-----------------------------
    --------Sokratis----Kos/Hold----Umtiti---------------
    Bellerin-------Torreira--------Xhaka----------Alaba

Barca wants Laca for 70millons or so.

Unpopular opinion but I would do it if we don’t have a lot of money to spend....

Spend it on a winger who can give us goals and then left overs on another position (as we got plenty to do!)

He has 3 years left on his contract and we have no desire/need to sell arguably our most valuable asset.

If they want him, tell them they will have to stump up £90m or more. Only then should we consider it.

Agreed, take Barca to the cleaners, but ultimately sell.

You have to wonder what the heck is going at the academy? We have liabilities in defence, and yet no one is trusted from that setup to step up into the first team? Really disappointing, if we cannot get anyone from the youth setup ready to rival gash defenders like we have, they must be complete dross!

one player I would love to sign would be Ruben Neves. Hes a fantastic player, but Wolves have more money than us, so I dont think that would happen.

but I think if there is one player, that we should be pulling out ALL THE STOPS to sign, it would be Rabiot.

He would immediately improve on what we have, he is a more defensive minded player, he would not cost a lot (free), and most important of all....

    he is AVAILABLE.

the question is would he want to come to arsenal? We would have to give him a £200,000 a week contract...

Rabiot would be a great addition. I would bring in Rabiot and a more traditional CM playmaker.

When you look at the qauntity of goals Lacazette and Aubmayang are already getting - if we add some more creativity into the side we are only going to score more goals.

What we need is a tricky winger !! Auba and laca will love it. Will wait in the middle for a delivery .... one guys misses it then the other one will get it :)

I dunno - I think thats the direction Emery will go because he seems to prefer a 4321/433 but for me I think we are better off with a Laca and Auba forward line and a 3-4-1-2.

As I said in the other thread.
Lacazette with 19 goals 13 assists
Aubameyang with 29 goals 7 assists
We should be building our side around that not shoving one of them out of position.

    I would do something like...

Out: Mustafi, Wellbeck, Lichtsteiner, Cech, Ramsey, Jenkinson, Monreal

    Bring in...

    R Nelson
    Rabiot (Free)
New Top Class CB (Skriniar/Koulibaly- Big Money signing.)
backup experienced CB (maybe J.Boateng - he's available on a free)
New playmaker/competition for Ozil. (Van der Beek would be a good option)
Left Back (Alaba would be great and is looking to leave Bayern)

    ------------------------------Leno--------------------------------
    ----------Sokratis-------NewCB-------Holding/New-------
    Bellerin--------Torreira----------Rabiot--------------Alaba
    ----------------------------Ozil/DeBeek------------------------
    -----------------Lacazette---------Aubameyang-------------

Bench: Nelson, Guendouzi, Kolasinac, Ozil, Koscielny, Xhaka.

I would not risk Jerome Boateng for more than a few hundred Euros a week.

I suspect a likely new coach at FC Bayern Munchen will be moving David Alaba into the midfield role he plays with the Austrian national team.

Good luck in the Europa League final.
