can't see us stumping up whatever they'd want for him. Decent player and can play in several positions. Think it's a non story regarding us though !

Mahoney is ready? He's made 2 professional appearances in his entire career, a loan is exactly the right thing not being chucked straight in the lions den. Its basically either Archer or Begovic for the number one spot, I know which I'd choose.

Yeh it would be good to see Mahoney get a season of first team appearances on loan, if at all possible, to gain that experience week in/week out to step up a level. Then assess him for first team football for us.

Can we all start a rumour online that Willock is going to a Saudi club for £10m? Surely they need to fill up their squads with half-decent players to play alongside the superstars...

Best chance of that is if they get the Willock brothers mixed up. Or they want someone to give their hamstring specialist medic practice.

I didn't expect much this pre-season and I know our spell of 5 signings a day are long gone but this is depressing.

The Watford Thread has hit home how close the season is. Surely we cant start a season without a full bench!

I appreciate we'll be hanging round for the yellow sticker trolley before making signings. The trouble is that the seasons seem to be starting earlier, meaning you've already played a good number of games before deadline day.

This has been going on for so long you have to think we’ve passed on him. As a free transfer we’d have snapped him up if he was any good, surely.
 
Surprised at that. I was sure Gareth would snap him up. Looks like you may not get Forino. Allegedly, Wycombe turned down an offer of £350K. Not surprised, worth more than that, although a good sell on clause could have been tempting I suppose. Only 1 year left on his contract so either someone else will offer enough or we would have to extend his contract, if he would be happy with that

350k probably all we could find down the back of the sofa ! Theoretically, we're only gonna get duffers for that amount. Oh how I wish the days of spending a million or so on Dozzell were here again !!

Thought I read that reading paid fir a youngster they had on loan from Man Utd. All a bit odd for a supposedly cash strapped club.
I guess we are sticking to our financial guns. GA learning the hard way it seems.
