Worryingly - Blackmore of BBC Solent has done some digging into the NA/NC rumours. This is what he has said:
NA sounding frustrated "I imagine we'll be signing more players" - relying on "recruitment dept" - difficult for him
Asked about Cortese: I believe he is away but not necessarily on holiday & I'm sure things can be done without him being there in person
I think there are cracks, but not widened by NA - I think he's doing well to work with the demands on him
I'm not saying NC isn't happy with Nigel - I just think he's demanding and 'involved' more than some chairmen may be
You need to read between the lines & just realise that NA is understandably frustrated transfers are slow
Someone then sent to Blackmore:
"From what I understand, NC is the same with all departments within SFC. He needs to reign it in & allow people to do their jobs. Staff are scared stiff to work on their own initiatives 4 fear of upsetting NC - NOT ideal!!"

Didn't I bring this up a year or so ago (either on here or the old 606) to be shot down by everyone? Heard many a rumour along these lines
I don't get it, what's the big deal? So Cortese and Adkins don't skip around the stadium hand in hand, I don't really see any part of that which is a cause for concern. All it really says is, Adkins is a little frustrated but he's cool with it, and people don't want to piss off the boss, which is hardly an uncommon situation

I think the cause for concern is that members of staff who question their position due to Cortese being so full-on and over-bearing often end up out of the job. Nigel is questioning Cortese behind the scenes because with 10 days until the start of the season he does not feel he is prepared in terms of the players available to him.
Cortese runs the place like a business and he is the CEO. A lot of big companies are run with a little "healthy fear" of the boss. It works for some companies not for others.
Man, Gold and Sullivan are gonna be so mad when we finish higher than them with a third of their wage budget.
Why do our fans panic at these rumours on twitter. RUMOURS.... all because we havent signed 12 players this week..... unreal.

We have smashed our transfer record to bring in a very good striker who was touted amongst various prem clubs.
We have signed in many people eyes a future england right back who possibly had the chance to join man united not so long ago and he admitted he had the chance to sign for various other top rated sides.
We have signed a good young goalkeeper who again, was being alledgedly chased by various other prem clubs
We have signed Steven Davis who is a proven prem player with bags of experience.
I honestly dont see the huge deal in people panicking. Let the rumour mill do its stuff, they will soon get bored.
Up the saints, the future bright and we know its not Blue !!!

Well clearly not for this one. I mean, look at how we've struggled so far, what success have we had since Cortese came in??
Ohhhhh wait.
I'm not overly worried about the whole situation. But it seems pretty apparent that things are stalling from the way Adkins is speaking.
We're 10 days from the start of the season, and we still need to strengthen. We have just one friendly left and Adkins thought he would have 2 or 3 signings in by City. Cortese is now away and nothing is progressing??
Will we get 2 or 3 signings in the next 9 days?
