Would much rather we got Cannon than the likes of Mendy. Ligue 2 isn't a great standard + his age meaning his value will only drop. Cannon has shown he can do it in this league and has age on his side, likely to improve and value increase barring any serious injuries.

If we are bidding that much for Cannon, what are the "KLD's skint and pocketing the money" crowd going to be negative about now?

Sometimes we have to forget about resale value and buy for the here and now..we can't become obsessed with the future only

Think that got proven to be not as bad as first made out. They've also brought in basically that figure they owed in outgoing transfers and obviously parachute payments, plus the new Red Bull sponsorship. They are absolutely fine financially. New winger just arrived for £11m.

Uk forwards are massively over priced, not saying he wouldn’t be a good signing but we’d get better value for money elsewhere.

Yeah. I stayed there for the latest Charlton play off final and it's fair to say I was less than impressed.

Wonder if we are involved. 21 y/o winger who scored 8 and assisted 10 in League One last season on loan at Portsmouth. Handed a transfer request in last week.

Cannon is a very good striker for this level imo like. The price is high but if it gets accepted at 5m I would not mind

he seems to have that bit bite about him when he plays too

They're taking risks with their expenditure and banking on a promotion that may never come.

If the parachute payments run out, before they go up, there'll be a fire sale at the club imo.

This all smacks of the David O'Leary/Ridsdale era to me,
