I was embarrassed when our four senior pro signings flipped their car on a roundabout and then the squad went on to finish just outside the relegation spots.
I was embarrassed every time we had to pay the 30% ‘North East tax’ to get a senior pro to move somewhere other than London or the NW.
Watching this group of talented young players doesn’t even crack the top 50 most embarrassing things I’ve witnessed in my life as a Sunderland fan.

Talent yes obviously, at a level to compete at this level right now NO. Have we failed massively in the transfer market the last 3 windows, 4 including this YES.

I’m as frustrated as anyone (clearly stated on here), as I spend a lot every year watching the lads home and away but I know we aren’t in a bad place. We’ve got some cracking players who’re likely to improve and have very good careers. I also know the championship is a horrible league to get out of and fully aware we can’t just spend, spend and spend a bit more. The relegated teams have a huge advantage these days, that’s just the way it is.
I pray we sort out a proper centre forward, then we’ll have half a chance. Let’s see where we’re at come September 1st.

Mate, if at the end of the window we haven't got the players everyone can see we need then it's time to shout, but we have to believe we won't be left short again

We are mate, but we were told in the summer they had learned lessons and as much as its frustrating there is still 2 weeks to go.
If we get to the window closed and nothing then we have a right to complain. It's frustrating but it seems to be life now
