Surely they are not getting 40m for him? He is canny but that seems very overpriced to me.

I know they paid a canny wack for him like.

that’s his release clause, they’ve tested with lower bids but David Ornstein is reporting this morning that they’ve activated the release clause last night which is 40m

think they paid around 30/35

Not with this new style. Even mayenda was having chances against Cardiff. I think we are improving on that front
To give some credit to Mayenda his pressing and movement was an improvement on most recent f last season too. Rusyn also has decent movement but clearly isn’t a “ target” centre forward.

He’s got raw pace and good movement he just needs that comes from experience and belief. It comes from playing. He needs games. Not saying he should be our number one but he’ll come good. Rusyn I’d get shot of. Not good enough.

Rutter’s release clause being activated from Brighton to Leeds which gives them 40m.

Much better chance of them going up than us, wonder if they are looking at Clarke? (If he hasn’t signed a new deal) as Haarte was their last night…
Harte would be all over that like, be a nightmare losing Clarke so late in the window but imagine he only goes if we get ridiculous money

Strange one with Bennette. I think we paid a decent amount for him, every time I've seen him he looks good and makes things happen but we seem determined to not give him a chance. While Roberts gets a full season producing nothing and still gets picked as a starter.
Tell you what one of the issues is, he's a left footed left winger, we have inverted wingers. Bloody daft really because he could add an extra dimension. If we could get him on loan to L2, he might toughen up. But that is wishful thinking.

be surprised if Clarke wasn’t in the conversation for them but on the flip side they’ll need a striker to replace ruitter and it will be a harder to deal to do with us than say it may be for Manuel benson at burnley.

they may feel benson is better value, he’s not their star man so getting him may be simpler.

lots of considerations but if they are reinvesting the money they have made and are after a winger then as I said Clarke has to be in the conversation as he is the best player in the league in his position and one of the best players overall.

I’ve accepted he is going but now worried that a late bid which meets our valuation leaves us with little time to reinvest ourselves or sees us panic buy.

gonna be a long few weeks till the window closes

On Leeds/Clarke, I know he's been linked and they'll certainly have the money there if they lose Rutter, but given we are two games in already, I hope to the Lord above that our asking price is increasing ever so slightly. We will go from promotion battlers to bottom half if we sold Clarke with no replacement. Even with a replacement, if they're from abroad there's a decent chance they'll need time to settle.

I was all for selling him a month ago, now...get him tied down, sell Ekwah if we must and get a few more players in and we are laughing.

Bit of a strange one this, Rusyn has a monster jump on him and has one of the best aerial duels % won in the league for a striker but doesn't have the frame to hold the ball up

Leeds can’t spend what they bring in.

They are absolutely riddled with debt, they owed close to £200 million in fees from PL days due this summer.

That’s a relatively small profit on what they paid for Rutter.

If they don’t clear them fees and go up they’d be already relegated with a points deduction.

Worth noting super Leeds squad has already shipped 6 goals and not won a game, despite playing a team that’s been 3rd tier for several seasons.

Sheffield United already docked 4 points for similar, 2 now and 2 end of season (god knows why they’ve split in in same season).

He scored 3 in 12 for the U21s last season, but some folk were horrified at the idea of loaning Lankshear who got 23 in 23. Not easy this DoF lark is it...

Charlie McNeil has been highly rated since United piped him from City, google tells me it was a reported 750k for a 16 year old. He may have left United but its a move to the championship and i doubt there are zero caveats in that contract should he develop that would prevent united from buying back or taking a good percentage of a sale.

It's certainly an interesting one and if you compare it to our Hemir signing it's a player already in England and older and as other have pointed out most of our foreign signings have been poor compared to british based signings, horses for courses.

To be fair, Leeds are running at an £90m transfer profit this summer before this latest sale and have already shifted two expensive left wingers. If they were interested in Clarke you’d expect they’d have been in before now. Suspect their sales are more about desperate book balancing than anything else.

we were looking at someone from Chelsea but got quote 4mill Loan fee (heard this on BBC Radio Newcastle the other night)

I'm sure that was a pisstake as someone said we had been given a 4m loan fee for broja but it was just one of those jokes where it plays a moaning sound
