I don’t dislike Wilks. I certainly think he could do more but he has some talent and he’s well-liked by the players apparently. I wouldn’t be too upset if he went though.

Like someone said, 19 league goals in League One would’ve commanded a 7 figure sum last summer and he’s still young. Wednesday would be a good move for him.

I’d prefer to see him through the centre, he’s always looked like that lazy CF that’s got an eye for goal, over a lazy winger who just gives up with other duties when he’s cut inside & had a shot!

Rate him or not a loved up Wilks would be a cracking signing for anyone in L1.
I’d like to hang on to Wilkes this window. There is a talented player in there, but poor attitude. Last season may just be the wake up call he needs to kick on, realising it’s possibly his last opportunity to progress his career. I’m sure some of the new signings wouldn’t put up
with his ball hogging. Also he may benefit from a change in coaching.
I’m sure with the extra subs, he could get opportunities.

If we can get £14 million, take it all day long - I don't subscribe to the view that he doesn't put a foot wrong - silly penalties, often out of position, some questionable decision making and can't head the ball when we're attacking - £14 million, yes please but I'd be very surprised if it's true

£14 million is a decent price but to Boro i don't think so, surprised one certain club has not come in to test the water yet.

Mills could be the next academy prodigy to break through. Snelgrove and Jarvis look promising too.

This interview with Honeyman seems to have rattled some cages.

Interesting. As I thought, it was the terms of the deal, not the fact he was going to have to fight for his place that was the issue.

I'm gonna be a broken record again but it's not massively surprising. Don't get me wrong, I'd have expected Fleming to be first choice after his end to last season, but it definitely isn't as clear cut as a lot of fans have been making out, Elder isn't **** and never has been **** for us. Fleming did really well when he got in due to Elder's injury, but equally Elder did really well for two and a half years before that and it really limited the amount of games Fleming could get in that time.

People are so committed to this 'Elder is ****' thing though, you can already see the basis of the narrative forming for when we lose a couple of games if he does go with Elder as first choice. It'll be purely because Fleming isn't playing like last season it was purely because of 4-3-3 whenever we lost.
I really like Fleming but watching the Fernabace game (admit not much of it) thought Elder looked our best player.
