Gotta look at Wilsons motivation at the end of the season. He probably wanted to get going before the world cup + impress some potential bidders.

I'd like to think we could attract a more rounded striker to compete with Brobbey.
Yeah, could definitely be a bit of that.

Players are human and it was natural for Isidor to feel a bit pushed aside by Brobbey's emergence. Plus he became a dad with all the energy that takes. Isidor wears his heart on his sleeve so it was obvious he didn't feel great in mid-season. Testament to how high the character of our group is that Isidor wasn't disruptive or went to the media to voice unhappiness / kind of thing.

It had everything to do with fitness mate. All Southampton had was a medical, we had all his data from when he arrived.
He was offered a deal that he was happy with but we wanted a clause in to do with match fitness.
It was best for both parties he left, and what followed proved that and we all benefited other than Southampton
NO in demand player with a decent agent would sign a contract you describe! Data tells you nowt about future injuries mate ,fitness yes but injuries no!Unless you tell me you have first hand knowledge i think your a hindsight biased individual in this case. It worked out well for us so we should move on but I dont agree we should imbue our medical/fitness team with some sort of prophetic powers. It was all about his value curve and his wage demands nowt more!

aye this, I think we need someone on par or maybe even an upgrade on brobbey to compete. I love Brobbey so no slight on him. i just think we need two good strikers that fit our style of play. Latest reports in the echo were suggesting Brobbey caused a style shift which now leaves Isidor and Mayenda as two strikers that now don't fit our style.

Mayenda definitely a loan. We will regret selling now cos he will treble value at some stage.

We need a ruthless finisher.

I’d argue we do in Isidor, whenever he’s through one on one it’s rare he misses. It’s clear that brobbey is the main man and for the team he’s the best fit, but Wilson is undoubtedly the better finisher between the two for me

Wouldn’t call him ruthless, best we have for sure.

He finishes well sometimes but instinct one touch/head dies fail him.

I love the lad though so hope he remains.
