Interesting you haven't mentioned a CB either, I think Jacob tanswell spoke about a experienced one coming in on TSP!
Yeah, heard that on my commute this morning. Admittedly I haven't checked in/heard anything other than the above for 5/6 days now.

Would like an experienced CB for sure, if there's a decent one we think is attainable. Just hadn't heard it myself.

Read that Aston Villla have enquires about Jan Bednarek.

Saint Garrett posted it on SW, seems to be there ITK this summer too, also said earlier that a medical was pencilled in for Wednesday possibly.

Good to hear, we can only loan 2 players total so need to factor that in with the full back, attacking mid and striker options as well
I think we'd ideally like to get a FB who we think can grow and develop with us on a longer-term basis, but we may just have to bite the bullet and sacrifice one of the loan spots, get someone in who can do a job for a season and then go back when Tino is back up and running at the end of this season.

That's fair, I'd like to think if we are able to shift Stephens and Bednarek that we word definitely bring one in.

Fingers crossed, thanks for the info BTW, nice to get excited for the next two weeks or so.

Gyarbi is I think, but don’t think he’s been bought to play in their first team this year. Might be wrong of course, not sure if he has been included on their bench for either of the games so far
Ah yes - Darko Gyabi. Which I both merged and also got mixed up with a real player to get Gakpo. Gakpo is the attacking midfielder some people on Saintsweb want us to sign who we have no chance of getting

They paid 5m for him which is a tad on the high side for a B team player. Was on their bench the first game. But even if he doesn’t count they still bought two new ones (and lost one) but presumably had midfielders already ? But that is net plus one just like us I guess

From what I have heard, I think we will definitely sign: ST (permanent), FB (loan, more likely) and a 10 (loan or permanent).

I think we'd also like to add another striker on loan, if we can. Interestingly, there's a lot of talk about the club going after an experienced CB now. I have to admit that I hadn't heard that one myself, but it certainly makes sense.

I'd imagine CM - James Garner seemingly - only really comes into play if we have the resources and get someone(or a couple) out of the door.
If all of these come off then it really would be a squad overhaul. Especially if it is two strikers and another CM (with Diallo almost certainly going in that instance)

If we sign one permanent and one loan striker you’d have to imagine that Che will also leave ?

He’s posted about medicals before an not seemed to be right. Unless under reported women’s team medicals count? Not even sure if that made it right. The one I am thinking of is there was supposed to be a second medical in either the Aribo or Mara week

Aston Villa would be because Carlos ruptured his Achilles’ tendon and is out for 6-9 months. That injury sounds horrendous

Interesting use of “sacrifice” one of the loan slots. Sounds like we very much intend to use both which we didn’t last year. Good news if true as it further freshens up the squad

Doesn't sound wonderful, would be quite fortunate for us as a club if they were seriously considering Jan, as we don't seem to have any bidders. I imagine 15Million is fair and reasonable, it'll be interesting to see if there is more to this.

Hopefully we are pragmatic on selling price as it seems like incomings would be a bonus and shifting 50-60k a week would be very useful if possible

Especially added to McCarthy, Stephens and then one or two of the attacking midfielders. Could allow a lot more wage bill space for both extensions and new signings. But I’m not getting too confident yet !

Chelsea apparently considering including some players in any deal for Gordon. CHO, Gallagher and Broja all been linked. Everton would be doing very well to get any of them as a straight swap for Gordon, let alone some money on top.

Jan Bednarek is probably a good defender in somebody else’s team. I think any deal for him is a good one for all parties. I don’t think he’s suited to the way we aspire to defend under our current style (jokes, I know, but you know what I mean).
Brentford are an example. Sit very deep with loads of people behind the ball - at least they did at the weekend. And I’m sure there are other teams

Would be hilariously bad business for Chelsea. Their new owner is actually being a stereotypical American in a way that is usually only mocked in comedies - trying to do player trading in the American style rather than paying money but getting valuations for players laughably wrong on both ends

Asked my Everton mate about it and he seems to think they are getting Broja and Gallagher for him, one permanent and one on loan
That would be the biggest example of daylight robbery in many a year. And also drastically boosts their survival chances putting us in an even stickier situation. Things are looking quite dicey this year
