Unpopular opinion alert, but it's a shame Stephens could be off.

Sort of reminds of Yoshida in that he's a good, honest pro. Not spectacular, but he absolutely gives his all for the club whenever he wears rhe shirt. He'll happily play anywhere without any moaning or groaning. Much rather players like him in the team than some of the mercenaries we've had recently who couldn't give 2 ****s about the club.

He’s nowhere near as good as Yodhida.

Beddie’s misunderstood. You look when the team are taking a water-break, it’s Bednarek giving instructions to others. When he was subbed, sitting on the bench he had his face in his palms; looked genuinely upset.

Yeah this has been interpreted as him throwing his toys out the pram about being subbed. I guess it could be but to me it looked like he was annoyed about how the game was going rather than kicking off about being subbed

So if only Stephens leaves do we think we will sign another CB?

I guess if Hassenhuttl wants to continue the 3 at the back for some games it would make sense to replace him, if we will only be playing 2 every game then we won’t need to

I wonder whether the big thing we need is to get the wages off of the wage bill. Rather than incoming fees (which would obviously be nice)

There is definitely a limit to what we can spend on wages. Getting rid of any two of the central defenders gets up close to 100k a week of room. Similar with trying to move on McCarthy

Yup. There is a model and a plan and over-burdening the balance sheet with 'dead' wages (for players the club does not want) has to be avoided. Get some out the door and it frees up salaries for the incoming signings.
