If we can shift those three it leaves us with 4 players for the 2 behind the strikers (S Armstrong, Elyounoussi, Tella and Arribo), could add Smallbone to the list as he has played there.

That will probably be enough numbers wise, quality is another question

I mean, they must be fairly confident that they can actually sell them? Right? Hasn’t that been our problem for the last…forever? Maybe SR’s backing makes us more able to top up wages of departing players. That would make some of ours easier to sell.

I think if you’re motivated enough you can shift players. There must be a way to give a player a outgoing “bonus” to move to a league which has a lower wage structure.

Depends if the players want to secure a 3 year deal on overall more money that just seeing out their last year here with presumably little guarantee of much playing time

Leaving on a free in a years time could mean bigger offers then for the likes of Djenepo and Redmond, Walcott doesn’t really have a year to waste at this stage of his career

The wage contribution thing is pretty commonplace. So, for example, Redmond agrees to move to a lower value contract elsewhere. To persuade him to agree to it, we pay a part or whole of the disparity of salary for the year remaining on his deal with us. I just think that it might be something that we were probably too tight to do under Gao and it was more financially viable to loan out unwanted players with more wages covered, kicking the can down the road.

I’d keep Redders before Tella, who I don’t think is going to be good enough.
Tella has the one trait that has been missing from our team. Knocking it past a player and running onto it. Unfortunately he showed it at the start and then stopped doing it. (Our other wingers either do not have the pace to do it or prefer to have the ball at their feet eg Armstrong, Redmond and Ely). Not sure if this was down to management telling to keep it more under control but the result is a shell of what he showed us when he first came on.

My main issue with Tella is that he can’t kick a football with any meaningful effect. Not being mean, but he cannot really shoot with power. It’s an odd technical deficit. Reminds me a bit of Sims, in that he’s quick and can go past a man…but…yeah…not too much else.

My main issue with Tella is, He isn't very good.

Thats what you meant to say I think.
