Says its similar to West Ham offering £12 million for Rooney.........Not Quite bender!! As class as the lad is, he is the wrong side of 30, and I think the fact that nobody has bid for him yet at their £8-10 million valuation says it all.....he's just not worth it. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...us-4m-Scott-Parker-bid.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
I would like to see us getting Parker on a 12 month loan, with the hamsters paying at least 50% of his wage. That's not a bad offer, plus something for Sullivan to consider...Rooney wouldn't leave Man Ure for a championship side as it would affect his chances of playing for England in the Euros whereas Parker wants to at least get a chance to represent England in the 2012 Euros, and he will get more of a chance by playing in he premiership
If he can't respond with respect, let the little chimp keep Parker and keep paying him 65K a week.....
I have my doubts about whether Parker would want to come to us - particularly if he has any similar offer from an established Premiership side - despite our change of ownership, there's still a feeling out there that our stay in the Prem will be fleeting. We need the good players in order to stay - there's the Catch 22
We need tyo attract a couple of decent players before Parker things about moving West imo. Gold is a chief clown, he should keep his trap shut. Fair play Parker is a good player, but he's the wrong side of 30 and his wages are crazy, £6m tops is all we should pay so if £4m is laughable thgen it shows how far from reality he really is. If Parker stays at West Ham and they dont go up.... Well hello Administration!
the fact is Parker wants out of West Ham because of the 'England' thing and who wants to play in the championship? Yes part of me thinks that our £4M offer was a bit of a statement to the fans and if TF is serious i would go upto £5M (but no more). Scott Parker would love a move to Arsenal or Spurs before us but if they don't come in for him (which i think they wont), then he would take us before West Ham (as the clubs stand). Personally i don't see him coming to us but i wouldn't worry about what Sullivan says. The guy is a complete muppet who wears a stupid coat. He talks about a 'publicity stunt'? Who was it that took over West Ham and said the club was in safe hands? Remember he took West Ham down. Only 'insult' that he should be talking about is how a great club like West Ham are playing in the Championship under his watch. Ellers
If modric stays at spurs, they don't need parker. And if arsenal really wanted him, surely they wouldn't wait until the last week of the window?? Don't think he really fits into their style. All the talk is aimed at bumping up his value. He's going nowhere.
I know we don't have unlimited funds just because there are new owners but its still disappointing to see articles about us being totally off beam with such offers. You don't see such articles regarding Man City or Leicester transfer activity for example. Is Warnock so used to running things on a shoestring (or just too much of a stingy Yorkshireman) that he might cause us to miss out by being too hawkish in such negotiations? It's been a painful summer in this respect and we have just a couple of weeks to make up for lost time so acting like scrooge may not be the best tactics at this stage.
And what kind of a statement would that be from Arsenal to their fans......sell Fabregas and get 30 Year old Parker.......he is a quality player, but not the kind of player Arsenal would be looking at, if they want to retain their top 4 ambition.
He is a class act though boys. Maybe a 6-7m offer would be accepted. And if we got 3/4 good years service I think it would be money well spent.
I feel sorry for West Ham. I know what it's like having embarrassing owners in charge of the club I love. £4m for a near 31year old championship player on £3m wages a year is a good deal.
Horrible little man!!!I think i recall West-Ham stealing Trevor Sinclair off us for an insulting fee for under 3mill !
