I see him getting 15 at best, but a fair few assists to match. The way BR's building this team, we're definitely looking at goals from all the four forward positions and a few from Gerrard, rather than relying on just one player (ahem, United). Certainly a few 10-12 goal players and Studge up top with 15 or so. I'd be fine with that
DId you just say goals from Borini??? I can see Aspas, Sturridge, and Suarez ( if he does indeed stay) being the bread winners and Borini a bit more important for the cups.
I said four forward positions, didn't mention any of their names - since we don't know which four will end up starting, never mind be in the squad! Could be Suarez, Aspas, Coutinho, Studge, Borini, Ibe or Sterling. Willian even. I think Borini will net a fair few this season if he gets games. He's been in some cracking positions preseason and almost got a few. Confidence player without doubt, but the talent is there.
I see you didn't mention Joe Allen #racist I hear ya and agree. Think we have some options up front in terms of cups and prem, we can rotate them around a bit and hopefully find a fair few firiring.
If Allen takes up one of those four spots, we can kiss goodbye to any chance of remotely gaining ground on top 4. If he's even on the pitch, for that matter...
****ing fick yank I agree that the four attacking roles have goals in them now. From our potential strongest line-up (Sturridge, Coutinho, Suarez and Aspas), I'd say Coutinho is the weakest link in terms of goalscoring. Not exactly a bad weak link is he?
Half a season in a new team and he gets 11 in 16. A full season with better team around him and a full season of Coutinho should be looking to get at least 20 goals in all competitions, especially if he is used as the focal point in the front 3.
if he plays even when suarez returns i'll predict... 25 gaols all comps if he gets injured like i expect who knows
If Sturridge stays fit for the season I can see the lad grabbing 20-ish goals in the PL alone. He's shown enough on the tail end of last season to believe he has great ability when he's confident, some of the things he's done, like his turn n shot v Chelsea and the flicks and awareness have been fantastic. I really hope he gets off to a good start and doesn't get injured, he just might go on from there and make the price we paid for him look like a real bargain. Consistency lad consistency
*knock on wood* It seems the medical staff are much much much improved. Agger not injured as much, Gerrard the same. joe Allen and Borini were kind of freak accidents if you will on their injuries but I think we should be OK there.
Playing Allen with a bust shoulder wasn't so much an accident as it was more absolute idiocy. Playing Allen is absolute idiocy.
his record t chelsea and for us was one of a lot of injuries.... i think he's prone to tears and strains. you have to accept that and cover it
