Lot of hate for Saints on that program for sure, 2nd in table, 3-2 thriller at St Marys, and we get 30 second highlights..

Top of the table when we played Leicester, similar treatment.

    What gives.?

Same for most clubs. The BBC's contract with the football league for highlights is to only show extended highlights of one game in that show. The rest have to make do with just the goals or major decisions and the odd interview.

The contract is partly like that so Sky can remain dominant over the BBC, but also so the actual clubs can make money by showing longer highlights on their websites and charging for it.

With West Ham in this league they will get most of the coverage, same as when Newcastle were in the Championship.

I suggest paying for saintsplayer on the website, it's good value for money and the only place that is biased towards us.

I have SaintsPlayer of course, but why on earth we don't get more coverage is beyond me, we are easily a bigga club as WestHam.

Er no actually - and this is not Pompey having a dig at Saints. West Ham are one of the chosen ones as far as the media are concerend. It probably goes back to the Moore/Hurst/Peters days.

Simply on numbers you can't argue. West Ham got 33,000 on Saturday. We got 24,000.

For the very reasons that CBK has posted. Just read them and re-read them until it registers.

We have a tendency, as Saints fans, to believe only our club is neglected. In fact, every club is neglected, which isn't in the Premier League, and only those in the top 6 get regular coverage [and by that I mean media attention], and they tend to be ManU, Arsenal and Chelsea, with the other three taking what's left. Last Saturday's TFLS gave Saints a fair bit of coverage, but that went unnoticed amongst most fans here. The truth is, we're much more ready to whinge than we are to give credit.

One thing CBK didn't say was that two days after a match, the Beeb usually post up slightly extended highlights on the BBC Football website. Generally the extended bits are another 30 secs to a minute, on top of the TFLS match footage, leaving out the punditry.

West Ham are a bigger club than Saints, although when in the prem, we competed with attendances, and probably would again. Saying that, in London you get quite a few floating supporters, in that if there team arn't playing they may have a look elsewhere, this definitely occurs, but I wouldn't be sure on the numbers. Not that it matters that much!

I thought the same about our section in the pull-out in todays Sun. 2nd on the table, a thrilling match, and we get the heading 'DISGRACE' - it focuses on McClarens career and Derbyshire's opinion on ungiven penalties.

Maybe West Ham and Brighton should go on a date, so the BBC can do a show on it?

Boycott The Sun then. It's a Murdoch newspaper, so I don't know why you expect to find news in it, in any case.
