I know this is banging on about something we have seen previosuly on the board but once again I reckon CH's lack of use of the banch cost us a couple of points on Saturday. At 2-1 it was abundantly clear that Wes was having a poor game and looked knackered and had gestured to the bench that he was injured and Benno also looked tired.

At this point I would have thought that the majority of managers would have immediately brought on Tetty for either of them and used him, Johnson and Howson to shield the defence and basically harry Swansea out of the game. I know that it is ironic that I have in the past criiticised CH for being too defensive but at this point surely the key at that point surely is to shut up shop and win.

I just get so frustrated that we almost never seem to make impact substitutions - as soon as we took the lead Laudrup acted and ultimately they equalised and then after this happened CH reacted and brought on some fresh legs. I know CH had to use one sub early on but I really think that Tetty could have made a huge difference in the last 20 minues had he been given the chance.

I hope that we can just get this season done and dusted, stay up and then if the board think that CH is the man to take the club forward give him funds to change the squad round and bring in players he trust for more than 10 minutes in a game.

It has been, but I think we all agree and there's no harm discussing which substitutions should have happened.

I would have liked to see us bring Tettey on for Hoolahan and move Howson forward in the sixty minutes, soon after the goal. The only problem with that, I suppose, is that then it looks quite negative. In the event, we ended up being negative anyway...
