http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34542648 So Joey Barton thinks that clubs should subsidise the reduction in ticket prices? There is a much simpler solution, Mr Barton. A massive reduction in players wages from the current levels which give very average and ordinary footballers an annual gross income of more than £1 million per annum. It is obscene that any footballer need never work again after just one season at this rate of pay.
I agree with you, but it's hardly his fault that the player wage market is ridiculous. Clubs are willing to pay it, that's the problem, and subsidising ticket prices is a much more realistic solution for fans.
'You could also partially blame Sky for the ridiculous wages situation' - Partially ? 'Money has ****ed the game' If City, Preston and MK can't make a fist of the Championship what hope is there for Walsall or Burton next season. 14 in the Championship receive Sky Prem money - we haven't got a cat in hell's chance.
