Guardiola says he'd like up to six subs a match in order to help with player fatigue and to allow more strategy. I've thought from time to time that it would be a good idea. You wouldn't have to leave players on who are carrying a minor injury just to make up the numbers, and say you were 3-0 up with ten minutes left and three subs already used, you could put three youngsters on to give them experience of the first team in the Prem that they might not get otherwise. What do you lot reckon?
This for me only should be brought in if 3 of the subs are youth players. If it's any player then it just benefits the big clubs with the big squads.
No objections from me provided the clock is stopped. Might be wrong but atm I don`t think it does. If it does then ignore me.
Not sure mate the inner workings of a referee's mind are a mystery to me. I think they just try and time how much to add on at the end.
I often thought they should do this to stop time wasting. I think the ball is in play for something like 60 minutes every game. So just stop the clock for throw ins and free kicks, subs, etc. 30 minutes each half! Haha or go full American and have 4 x 15 minute quarters and sin bins!!!!!
If they did that they`d be playing the first half in the morning and the second half in the afternoon. I do think the clock should be stopped for subs though. Even more so if there`s going to be more of them.
Ha possibly but I still think the total time will be around 90 minutes as the ball is in play around 64% of the time which is around 60 minutes.
nope. just means more top players will end up at the top clubs leaving the rest of us picking up poorer quality scraps! Now if all 6 subs were from the youth team then that would solve that problem, but id sooner keep things the way they are.
How about if the extra three subs had to be youth players? Our kids do great in their respective leagues, it's not like the big clubs are the only ones with good youth teams.
My first thoughts on the matter. Think the bloke should try managing Hull or Sunderland against the big teams. Let him bring on six John O'Sheas while the opposition bring on six Yaya Toure's.
Pep should ram his subs up his arse. He should be banned but good old Pep smiles whilst mugging refs off so he gets away with it.
The biggest fraud in world football now the Sep Blatters gone. His whole philosophy and vision is just lip service and the fact is he's been privileged to have been handed the best players in the world and the money to buy the ones he hasn't. Give him Mourinho's Porto side and let's see what he could do.
To help with player fatigue? **** off, they get paid 100k a week to 'work' for 90 minutes. It would stop the games to much and could help teams in the lead to keep a team from getting momentum.
Pep calling for this while he's managing (another) one of the richest teams in the world. Yeah no bother mate, crack on and spend £20m on your 6th sub while the majority of us can't even spend that on one player. Bellend. I reckon he should worry about the here and now, after all, they were 4-0 down today against Leicester. The Leicester we beat easily last week.
