He's having an operation today. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/27514880 The 27-year-old Liverpool striker will have keyhole surgery on Thursday to repair damage to his meniscus. Estimates on his recovery range from 15 days to a minimum of four weeks.
Knee surgery after picking up an injury in training, it looks like he will probably at least miss the group stages... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/wo...verpool-striker-needing-meniscus-surgery.html
I dont think that Uruguay will need him anyway until the last group game against Italy towards the end of June. Time to recover.
He's now refusing to have the surgery, he says he can rehabilitate it on his own, I bet Liverpool will love that.
You never know with these. Ashbee went for a 'clean up' in knee and the surgeon found his leg had disintegrated.
According to the reporter who broke the story Suarez has already had an exploratory operation. And they are waiting for the results. Martin Charquero ‏@MartinCharquero 11m Luis Suárez ya fue operado. Esperemos por el resultado de la artroscopia. Edit. Apparently arthroscopy In Suarez's case doesn't mean an exploratory operation. He's had the only operation he's going to have.
The Uruguayan FA says after hearing about the results of the operation on Suarez, "No está descartada su participación en el Campeonato Mundial de Brasil." Which means his participation in the WC is not ruled out. They don't sound very confident. http://www.auf.org.uy/Portal/NEWS/3895/
The Uruguay team are now saying he's had surgery and they do expect him back in time for the World Cup.
