Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Valencia left-back Aly Cissokho on a season long-loan.

The France international, who was linked with a move to join Sunderland, has agreed to join Liverpool on an initial loan with a view to a permanent move.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has been looking for reinforcements at left-back as Jose Enrique is his only senior player in that position and has identified the

Frenchman as a viable option.

Cissokho is expected to travel to Merseyside next week to undergo a medical and agree personal terms at Anfield.

depends on the wording you believe from what source, i only said i heard he was coming tomorrow for a medical, this bit taken from the Telegraph can be interpreted how you like as well.

"Cissokho is expected to travel to Merseyside in the next week to undergo a medical and agree personal terms, although it is understood Liverpool do not believe that will be an issue."

Makes me feel a little bit more confident that if Suarez is to stay that he won't kick up a fuss and will come in and be available to play, if only till January.

I can understand where MITO is coming from - even though a negative appraoch appears to be his default position. The whole Suarez affair has been played out on a number of stages, sometimes at the same time and others with a time-lag introduced. Many things have been said and they have been analysed to death for individual reasons. Personally I welcome the stance that LFC have made on this issue and I admire John Henry for making his last remarks.

However, I am not sure that things were not said when Suarez signed his new contract that made him believe that he had been made a promise. So whilst I do think his actions and words have caused harm to the club and I doubt that I will ever back him as I used to, I can accept that this mess has not all been down to Louis Suarez.

So we have Suarez training again with the first team squad. That, in itself, helps demonstrate that progress is being made to a conclusion to this issue. However, it's not until I hear either Suarez or Rodgers say that he is staying will I truly believe it. Neither would I be surprised to find he's gone to a foreign club in a matter of days. But I would now bet the house that he is not going to Arsenal.

I don't know anything about Willian but if he's half as good as is being suggested then a combo of Suarez, Willian, Gerrard, Courtinho and Sturridge/Aspas starts to sound very sweet.

If those photos are anything to go by, I reckon he'll get stuck in. And he must have apologised to be training with the first team.

Can he be involved in any under 21 games or does his ban count towards those as well?

Would be handy to have him in there just to keep match fitness up while he's still banned

No I was backing your point up that we'd agreed a deal, not when he's due for medical <ok>

Just googled it myself and apparently he can play under 21 games as the ban is only for first team football.

Get him in the team <ok>

Edit: ignore that, further down in the article it then says he can't <doh>
