I don't like him because of his antics on the pitch but nonetheless he is a brilliant player. Really think he should have been sent off and I can understand why the Italians would be upset with the result, and perhaps some of these so called incidents during the game need to be reviewed and action taken if necessary. He also looked like he tried to headbutt the player and law states that the action needs to be either intentional or "intended' and in this case I think it was the latter-so he should have got a red card. The conduct on the pitch in regards to diving etc is becoming epidemic and the governing body needs to think again because the players are taking the game in to serious disrepute.
Surely the best and only way to punish such activity is to invalidate all his competition goals? Fair play all round - and would send a clear message that such behaviour is not acceptable!
No Liverpool fans then to say what a poor little troubled soul he is?? Thats what twitter is full of... and is normally the case..
Just read some comments from Liverpool fans on their forums. Basically 'it's Uruguay's problem not ours' and 'other fans wanting to put the boot in to Liverpool FC again'. Seems to me Liverpool fans and Suarez deserve each other.
To be fair I know a couple of Liverpool fans and they are saying they want him nowhere near their club after this. Ok they've fallen short on stating that they should release him on a 'free'
Suarez acts like a kid. After the horrible issues in the World Cup when Voller and Rijkard (sp?) spat at each other, I thought we were over playground type of behaviour FIFA should ban him from all competitions for 2 years, and impose a £10m fine as a minimum, but they probably don't have the authority (or guts)
Like others have said, Suarez and Liverpool are pretty much made for each other. One vile human being, one horrible football club. Of course the dippers would defend a racist, punching, biting, diving lunatic. He should be banned for all domestic matches as well, he's a threat to other fellow professionals with his pathetic antics.
Shouldn't "assault" charges follow, if that happened in the street over here possibly common assault. As one of the commentators on the Radio stated Duncan Ferguson was jailed for three months for headbutting an opponent (mind he was on probation at time) but I reckon FIFA won't have the balls to do too much and can't see Liverpool doing anything. Heartened to hear that one of his sponsors seems to be considering their options. Although he'll probably get new sponsorship from Colgate or the likes.
