If you have your sensible head on winning the league seems unlikely. I go into every season believing we can win it and I love this quote from Suarez. 'When you play for a club like Liverpool, one of the biggest clubs in England, you've always got to have the aspiration of winning the title,' he is quoted as saying in the Liverpool Echo. 'You've got to believe with the quality we've got at this club that this can be a realistic possibility. Lets get on the bandwagon. Then when we do win it we can all say I told you so.
I'm quite optimistic about the upcoming season! I'm really looing forward to seeing Adam and Downing play because I believe they add quality to the team that we didn't already have (i.e. Adam can dictate the tempo and Downing can provide width and pace). To be honest, I was unsure about the Henderson signing as I didn't see any real quality and I couldn't understand where he would fit in and if we actually needed him. After I saw him play against Hull, I can now see why Dalglish rates him (albeit after one friendly). He has an attacking mind set, always looking for the forward ball, has a nice touch and a pretty good range of passing. All in all, these players will improve our squad and are not stop gaps. My only concern is Andy Carroll - he hasn't really impressed me in any of the friendlies and looks off the pace. Hopefully Kenny will whip him into shape in time for Sunderland!
Andy Carroll doesn't worry me,what I'm concerned about is the need for one more centre half if Agger gets injured.I don't think we can depend on Soto, the less we use him the better, because lets be fair he is a liability.Andre Wisdom is untried even though he has the build and the size to do a job.
We must remember that Martin Kelly is actually a centre back and not a right back, even if he can play right across the back line. He's already proved he's got the quality to more than cope.
My concern is that we become heavily reliant on Flannagan and Robinson. I know they impressed last season but they still need to be used sparingly and rotated in an out of the team. I think getting an experienced ball playing CB will keep Kelly as RB and he will get more game time that way.
Nice to see his English is improving Seriously, I'd expect nothing less from anyone associated with the club, even if we don't realistically think it's going to happen. Woy told us to lower our expectations, that's why he let himself and everyone else down.
Forgot about that! He must have a had a translator with him, and the translator was obviously a Liverpool fan putting an posative spin on it. He actauly said "I like Pizza Hut."
