Strange time to off-load Sturrock.......although he will still lead them out at Wembley !!!

Talking of a new manager coming in possibly Monday !!!

The stress and strain must be doing wonders for Sturrock's health problems ,just not worth it.

PS.......of course we are looking for a Chief Exec ???

The rumour around Southend is that the new manager is Phil Brown.

Bit of a shock departure in my book. He led Southend through some pretty lean times and has done quite well on very limited resources there. Still up for the play offs so the timing is strange. I have never wished Sturrock anything other than well. His first time here was the best I've known for a very long time and I for one will always be grateful to him for that because I think he was a massive part in it. I choose to forget the second coming in favour of the first. You do wonder if it was they who asked him to leave or if he had a part in his leaving anyway. Funny old game ain't it.
