Rory Smith to be fair is one of the more reliable sources. Not a fan of Sturridge so if we get £12m-£14m for him I'll be relieved but not pleased we sold him to Liverpool. I really do think under Rodgers that Liverpool will be challenging for top 4 if not this year then next and unless we get a good manager in over the Summer we're by no means certs to make top 4.

As long as the gap up top gets filled with world class talent I don't mind <ok>

Think we should be selling Torres over Sturridge though personally.

We lost at home 3-1 to Villa. We are certainly not competing for top 4 this season. <ok>

I don't think Sturridge is particularly well suited to playing in a skillful side that builds up play slowly like Rodgers wants but he's a good goalscorer and might offer them something different. I'd rather he stayed with you and rotted on the bench :)

Sturridge has always been a frustrating player. When he is on his game he shows signs of great pace and scores an odd goal but besides that he just isn't consistent nor a prolific goalscorer. This will be a good deal for us. Best get him off our books now.

13m is a good price but i'd rather we kept him as i personally think he's really talented. If he does go i guess we'll certainly be bringing a striker in.

It would just seem stupid signing a big name striker to replace Torres who would be put on the bench. Why wouldn't we just keep hold of Sturridge and get rid of Torres? Not saying it's definitely going to happen but it's a possibility and i don't really understand it.

A lot of reports are also stating we have agreed in principle with Falcao, after he rejected the chance to move across Madrid. Probably just gossip and rumours but Torres and Falcao until end of season would be interesting. O

Not a fan of Sturridge either, and not unhappy to see him go. Would rather get in a midfielder to run the show, than another striker this transfer period. Then we can FINALLY see if Torres can do the business with the "right" service or if he's a goner. My money is on the latter.
A replacement striker can wait till the summer if someone can play as Luiz did in World Club semi. Any of our front runners can score for fun with that type of service.

I'm more and more inclined to not buy a midfielder and give Luiz the role till the end of the season especially if Terry can stay fit. If Sturridge goes we 100% need another striker though.

No they won't. They are at his level now. He's a midtable manager that talks himself up is all.

I hope we do 2 things, buy a world class finisher and bring back Lukaku. Lukaku has definitely improved but the one thing he's missing is Euro experience and playing him in the Europa will give him that and keep our new striker fit and fresh for the Prem.

I have a feeling things will get better for Torres now he's back with his old gaffer, but I have a suspicion we may well sign a new world class striker in January , which I suspect is the main reason for cashing in on Sturridge! Sturridge was never going to become a Chelsea great , even if he has played for England!

Torres has looked better since Rafa got in, not saying Rafa has worked some coaching genius but there is a relationship there and if Benitez doesn't get the lad playing, nobody will. I don't think you'll miss Sturridge and I don't think he'll make the slightest bit of difference to us this season.
