Only a few years after the world cup and the england hype is back. This time it is led by the fawning over man utd and liverpool players (predictable). All of a sudden, ashley young, phil jones, chris smalling, downing, carroll etc. are the best thing since sliced bread. People seemed to of just decided young, for example, is a god. Lets ignore the fact he has been around a while. He isnt new. He just didnt get the fanfair at villa because villa isnt man utd. And we all know alot of the media love man utd.

But, anyway, everyone seems to be jumping on the tired england bandwagon again. Its a joke. Nothing has changed. No new player has burst onto the scene. Their central midfield is still gareth barry (remember how he played vs Ozil) and Scott Parker (very average) or frank "past it" lampard. And all this because alot of englands players now play for man utd and liverpool.

Everyone always looks at english players in isolation. But you have to look at them in context of what the rest of the world is producing. England are still a million miles behind spain, france, germany and holland. And they wont get anywhere in the coming championship, despite the fact that they will predictably get an easy group due to their stupid high fifa ranking.

We really think phil jones (0 app in cl), ashley young (o app in cl) and stuart downing (0 app in cl) are the great hope for english football? These clowns are all decent players, but they are so far from world class that its frightening.

Is a midfeild of scott parker, gareth barry, ashley young, stuart downing and james milner bad? No. But compare that to the players in the midfields of top sides in europe and then you realise that this hype around young english players (ust because they joined man utd and liverpool) is a joke.

Germany have players like ozil, sweinstiegger and khaderia. Holland have robben, de jong and sneijder. Spain have xavi and xavi. There is no comparison.

So what you're saying is that there are better teams than England? Breaking news! Here's more - there are better teams with better quality players than arsenal too, you gonna bitch about that too? The media are supporting the team and are biased, so what? What else do you expect? It's the same elsewhere too. FYI young and downing linked up very well to give us the lead a while back, no doubt that will keep us ranked FOURTH in the FIFA rankings.
