SOD is going to stick with our away tactics........... 1 more point from the away games then. Why cant we play away like we do at home. We're in the relegation zone, We need to win so why not do what works at home. Stick to a winning formula Sean! http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/Bris...tory-18471460-detail/story.html#axzz2OMQlKWlu
There isn't much difference between the way City play at home and away. For whatever reason they get deeper away from home and at home take up lines further up the pitch. The formation and team is much the same.
I said From his first game that it was boring boring football but some home games have surprised me but if u took the Barnsley game all the goals came from set pieces. He's playing the way he did at clubs like Donny which got them staying up each season but they had players like billy sharp who when left they went down and were unable to come back up. The player we will miss if out injured will be Anderson as seems the only player that is driving the team forward and supporting the lone striker that we have ended up playing. Guess it is showing that he doesn't rate baldock.
Donny were a fluid passing team and that at this point for city is not possible. That Donny team passing city off the park years back was pass and move pass and move. Players here who need too many touches for that.
We seem more negative away. At home I watch a very confident team who look like scoring. Away I see a nervous team trying not to concede. Would rather we just go for it. Yes we might lose but where we are we cant afford to sit back and hope the other team don't find the back of the net. We need results and they wont come if we're sitting in front of our goal!
Makes me laugh that we all comment on Doncaster being this fluid passing team based on the time they beat us 5-1 or something like that. On the other times they came here they tried to stifle us. Not saying that SoD is a bad manger before anyone starts shouting at me calling me a **** because I don't support the team or SoD.
"Not saying that SoD is a bad manger before anyone starts shouting at me calling me a **** because I don't support the team or SoD" yeah you are stupid ****!!, you want to start supporting the team....
a while back it was mentioned should pick a team and stick to it......pick the the youngsters and stick with them...pick a formation etc and stick with it...should we go down trying then fair enough..at the moment we have to stick with something and that something is SoD
I can remember a few seasons ago about Manchester United and they said Fergie hadn't picked the same starting 11 for 4 years. Its ok sticking with things but when they're not going right you change them, Obviously its not going right away so it needs to be changed.
http://www.wsc.co.uk/wsc-daily/979-January-2010/4478-doncasters-football-philosophy To keep a squad in a division on a budget is one thing. To do so with reliance on an aesthetically pleasing brand of fluid football is another. O'Driscoll has achieved results with one of the most unfashionable teams in the Championship playing arguably its most fashionable football. The emphasis is on ball retention and movement. The system is fluid, the midfielders and full-backs are given freedom to roam - comparisons with Arsenal's style have been made often. There is joy to be had in punching above your weight, but to do so while out-footballing players much more feted than your own carries an incredible amount of satisfaction. I will be backing this vision and the potential long term to take that a bit further than Doncastor realistically could.
Sorry S O'D has picked 2 forward players Davies and Baldock plus Kilkenny to support I applaud playing 2 forwards but surely Kelly would have been a better choice for the midfield than Kilkenny but it looks like he is going for the win.
