seems to be a done deal according to Phil Hay. Three year contract costing us about 1 mil. Brentford fans unhappy but will our miserable lot of moaners be happy I wonder
I would have preferred Buckley, but Dallas has done well at Brentford and will provide pace and width. Still think we could do with another winger in though. Pleased overall.
Worked under Rosler before, wonder why Brentford were willing to sell him? Buckley would never really have been an option with his wages.
By the sounds of it, the new manager isn't keen on a lot of the players that were already there - Jonathan Douglas (remember him?) was a key player for them last year, scored 8 goals from midfield and was recently told he wasn't part of their plans going forward. As for Buckley's wages, I heard they were around the £15k mark (though I could be very wrong!). I don't think that's too outrageous for a player of his quality. I wonder if Dallas has been signed with the expectation of the Gradel windfall - if not, I would love to see us go and sign another winger with the Gradel money.
No complaints here.... I can't claim to have scouted him or recommended him but I am sure someone will.
Brentford ST holder at work said this "He couldn't get near our starting 11 at the end of last season - and for some strange reason we played Alan Judge who is a central midfielder at left midfield instead of him. Scored a couple of good goals but woeful at crosses which isn't ideal for a winger - looked out of his depth in the Championship and I can't remember any assists last season. If we got over £500k for him I'll be gobsmacked as he only cost £70k"
Brentford fans on Twitter devastated at losing him despite Usual gibberish from TC. By the way Buckley deal doesn't seem to be off either
OK, call me a conspiracy theorist if you will (go on Glory, you know you want to), but didn't someone wonder why we were looking at Buckley as he's really a right-sided player? Adios Sam perchance? Hope not mind you.
Taken from a match report of there pre-season friendly v Stoke. Stuart Dallas is improving day by day, he looked explosive and fast down that wing, created one or two opportunities for Hoffmann, and of course, scored a goal, something that has been ingrained into his system for the last few games he`s played
Simon O'Rourke @simon_orourke 20h20 hours ago Did a bit of digging.. Will Buckley is on 16k per week averaged out over a year (inc bonuses). Should be in #LUFC's range.
From what I can tell, Buckley can play either side, but he does favour his right foot. If Sunderland offered £5m + Buckley, I'd be tempted to sell.
Dallas played in 38 Championship games for Brentford last season, scoring 6 goals ... he was one of their better and more consistent players ... apparently joining for £1m with potential for fee to rise to £1.5m ... signing a 3-year contract, and Leeds have added an option to extend it to 4-years ... all in all a good signing, starting to feel that Cellino is targeting play-offs ... such a positive close season so far, best for years
