Good result yesterday guys, and I think you'd agree that anything less would have been a big blow to you.

Three points each home game is a pretty well nailed on solution for survival in the run in at this stage, and yesterday was a good start. However, when you're a bit adrift, you still need those around you to lose, or at least drop points by drawing their own home games.

That brings me to the thread title. It's a genuine enquiry and not posted to descend into a slanging match.

Does your often stated dislike (hatred?) of Cardiff wishing to see us ultimately fail, emotionally outweigh your more considered thoughts about your own survival? Would you rather see us lose this afternoon and let Wolves take the points?

Given our club rivalry and the total divergance of our respective fortunes this season, what would be your preferred result at Molineux today?

Wurzels destiny is in their hands.

The metamorphosis of what was Cardiff City is so bizarre any rivalry for myself has finished. Charlton away is more fun.

That's a good start, and so predictable from you, I could have won money on it.

Speaking from my own perspective. Due to the antics of South Bristols youth any future matches between the two will be bubbles. That will mean fans boycott the fixture in Wales. The Severnside derby experience is de-valued to such an extent over the water that is does not feel like a derby at all.

OK Clifton, taking that on board and putting it to one side, what result would would you prefer?

Given what you've said, it would seem that you wish for us to win today.

Anyone on this site who slags off other teams really need to get their biased heads out of the sand and focus on our results because those are the only ones that matter in our quest for survival.

Other teams have their own ambitious targets in mind and I wish them well in their aims, and their results may help us but if we base our staying in the Championship on those results then we have a problem.

I don't care about your results just our own. Although if you could win I'd appreciate it <smooch>

I appreciate it when you say you don't care about our results Shiny, but that's not the question.

Any club's own results are obviously the most important to its' supporters, but most will admit they derive a certain satisfaction from the poor results of rival clubs.

The point is, does the maths of the situation you find yourselves in not outweigh the the wish to see Cardiff fail today?

It's just too bland (and disingenuous) to say our game today with Wolves doesn't matter to you.

A silly one where Wolves are beaten to such an extent they are demoralised.

It is all about sustaining a level of performance over games. Bristol City require improvement because the run of home results will not continue with performances like yesterdays. The midfield went awol. Team shape went out the window and Heaton in BCFC's goal was one of the best players on the pitch.

Shiny - I did read your comment and you said "I don't care about your results just our own". That's plain stupid given our game today.

Look guys, the maths of the situation is clear. Given the current table positions, it doesn't matter what you do if those around you match your results. Unless you perform better and pick up more points than the rest, you will go down.

The games in hand the others have is broadly irrelevant - it's points on the board that matter. For instance if Peterborough are relying on their games in hand to get them out of trouble, they are clutching at straws. They are bottom on points (that's all that matters), and you are just one place above them.

You can do well in all your remaining games, but if those above match you point for point, you will go down. You need to perform, but you also need them them to fail.

I also said I wanted you to win today <doh> as for the rest of your season why should I care? Unless you play someone around us I really couldn't care how you get on, Same with all the other teams that don't effect us.

BJA & Cider - One reason I posted this thread is because we have some games coming up that should be of as much interest to you as us.

Amongst our remaining games, we have yet to play Wolves, Peterborough, Barnsley and Sheff Wed. If we were fortunate enough to win those games, it would go a long way toward getting us promoted, and possibly a long way toward keeping you up at the same time.

Wish us luck in those if not other games - we could inadvertantly be doing you a huge favour.

(BTW, we wouldn't expect any thanks - a love-in is the last thing we'd want :emoticon-0105-wink:)

I heard you the first time Shiny - and stop slapping your face. I also noted you want us to win today, but to say otherwise you don't care how we get on is a little bit of a porky mate.

I can understand you'd be absolutely gutted if you went down, but a lot of you would be extra pissed of if we went up at the same time.

That's fair enough though. I doubt the feelings would be any different on the Cardiff board if the positions were reversed.

The league tells it's own story, we survive or fail by our own efforts over a season, every game we play and result is relevant to us, that's what's important , Cardiff's results don't matter, so no, you (Cardiff) don't matter one iota...

My thinking is on Swansea and Bradford today.....
