Over the last decade +, I think the prem is getting weaker every season. Only thing that is getting stronger is the financial side of it. The teams of man united, liverpool, arsenal maybe spurs would **** all over the teams of the "now era" even been a Sunderland fan I used to get excited about watching 'the top four ' in the epl. Now I find them **** and boring, there ain't a team in the league that I get excited about watching now apart from Sunderland. Why the **** is this happening??

Are the top teams really getting ****ter?

Is money ****ing the game with greedy lazy foringers coming over and been gash??

Or am I turning in to some sort of gay boy as I find football **** if I'm not watching Sunderland??

Top 5 teams I hate watching are...

    Villa- ****ing total dog ****e!
    Liverpool- absoulute gash
Stoke- Disgusting vile club and way of play
    Fulham- zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
Wigan- wish they would just **** off out of business.

    Thanks, x

I think the overall standard of the league is far better, and that's a good thing.

I'd agree United aren't as strong as 10 years back, but Chelsea, Man City & Spurs would all have been massive contenders to United & Arsenal who dominated that period.

Teams like us, Toon, Everton, Swansea all carry a lot more quality than the equivelant sides a few years back, so, yeah, maybe United, Liverpool & Arsenal aren't there, but the rest of the league is strong.

I'd suggest the 10th placed team in England would give a game to the champions of most countries, Spain & maybe Italy & Germany aside.

    That sums it up.

It's very hard to judge teams from different era's, but I do think you are being a bit harsh on Fulham, who in my opinion have played some canny stuff in recent years, and Wigan who were great at the back end of last season..

I think the opposite, the reason United and Arsenal cannot simply go out and "entertain" every week anymore is because of the opposition they face, it's much better overall nowadays. It's the reason we hear the famous words "best league in the world", near enough every time Super Sunday or MNF is on!

I think most teams are building stronger squads just to name a few look at stoke ,fulham ,Swansea and qpr these teams will be hard to beat along with ourselves and the mags will also be challenging fot high positions in the league this making it more difficult for the top 6 no team will be easy meat this season so let's us be prepared for a battle <bubbly>

The gap between top and bottom has never been closer and that's because every team has a few bob now to attract better players and there are not enough superstars in world football for the ones at the very top to pull ahead anymore.

Southampton at the bottom could, as they showed Sunday, give anyone a game at home and they have just come up.

This will a really close season imo, for every place in the league.

Yep, and I think the way you have just spoke about them clubs, especially Wigan was quite frankly, uncalled for.

Opposition to the so-called top four is stronger now than ever before in the Premier League. Now I don't fear a complete thrashing at the SOL by anyone, and look at results lately at the likes of Man C, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool.

The thing is, football moves in cycles. The periods of dominance have lengthened, but we were once top dogs, so were Villa, the Toon, Leeds......

Teams can buy the best from around the world, so when one gets a world-class left back from, say Brazil, there's another one in Japan that someone else will buy.

I think the EPL is stronger - if we'd had this squad 5 years ago we would have qualified for Europe, no bother. What is getting weaker is the gene-pool of English players.

I think the gap between bottom and top is getting smaller each year tbh, whilst the two Manchester clubs and Chelsea are still the strongest teams on paper you can still get a competitive match against lower opposition (saints vs united comes to mind being 3-2) I think this is good because a neutral match is more competitive than say 10 years ago when you would always back the 'big four' to win.

More clubs are playing without fear these days and are more likely to hit back than sit back against tougher opposition.

In a nut shell I think all teams are stronger so the league is better for it. On their day any team can win or get beat so it makes it more entertaining in my opinion

I quite like Wigan now. They more often than not have nice looking strips, and have a canny knack for surviving.

The man united and arsenal team of a decade ago would have mashed the likes of Southampton and Wigan week in week out

I just wish the pundits would realize this, they still predict Liverpool to win every away game. We, stoke, fullham and more very rarely get beat at home.
